Thread: Photoshop CS

I just got Photoshop CS and was wondering if anyone knows a good way to get to know how to use it to make sigs (besides the help feature). I've only used the microsoft photo program (I think it's called draw or photodraw) so I'd really like to figure out the best way to start making sigs. I've started tryin but I'm havin a hard time. Thanks for the help!

www.deviantart.com go to downloads and get some brushes. That is how you can make some really cool backgrounds. Josdin00 has a really good tutorial that he shared with me. Try PM'ing him.

Thanks guys...it's pretty confusing seeing how I've never used this before...I'm just messin around with it right now, or trying to I guess. I pm'd josdin00, hopefully he can help me soon. If I can't figure this thing out I have about 5 hours of SAP homework to do so I really want to figure this thing out!

I got your PM, and sent you the tut. Hopefully that will give you some clues how to start. Fred's suggestion is a good one, as well. My tut just shows off some of my techniques. If you go to www.good-tutorials.com or www.pixel2life.com, you find tuts from a wide variety of authors, and be able to learn many different techniques and styles. Ultimately, though, my suggestion is to look at the tutorials to learn why the author does each step the way they do. That will give you a good understanding of the program, and allow you to develop your own style for making sigs. If you just follow a tut to make a sig, then all you're going to be able to do in the end is copy that author's style. That's not nearly as satisfying.
