Quick tip - when you're using the polygonal lasso tool to create the shape of your sig, hold down the shift key. That will limit the direction of the lines you select to vertical, horizontal, or the two 45 degree diagonals. It makes it much easier to keep the gaps even, and make the sig look straight.

Exactly what Josdin said. Hold down the shift key when using the polygonal lasso tool and it will make the sig look even.
