Thread: New Post notification email

A small thing, but I was wondering if it would be possible to change slightly the emails that are sent to us when we are notified of a new post on a thread we are watching.

I wonder if it would be possible to eliminate the "http://" from the beginning of the link address?

For instance a recent notification I got had this: http://www.purplepride.org/forums/index.php?topic=41025.new;topicseen#new

My emails do recognize that as a hyperlink that I can click on.
I have to copy and paste into my browser everytime.


However if the email would have come like this:
www.purplepride.org/forums/index.php?topic=41025.new;topicseen#new

I could have just clicked on it and away I go to the site.
If it isnt a major deal for anyone that the http:// is not there, it sure would make it easier for me it we can do away with it.

Let us know if that is something that can be done.

I don't get the "New Thread" notifications, but I do receive the "A reply has been made to a thread you are watching" notification.

I have no problem clicking on the link & having it take me to the appropriate spot in the thread.

Also, once in PP.O, just above the threads you have two other links;

"Show unread posts since last visit." (New topics)

"Show new replies to your posts." (Topics with new replies you've posted in)

I use those two all the time extensively.

I turned those functions off as well.

First thing I do is read my PM's.
Usually a few if I've pissed people off in a thread ( ;D) and then I read:

"Show new replies to your posts."

And then try to get through all the:

"Show unread posts since last visit."

Thanks Singer, but the problem was actually much more simple than that (read: I am not the brightest lightbulb in the pack). All I had to do was hit the little + symbol to pull down the additional features. THe + symbol that for some reason I had never seen before.

Thats great, I just was asking if there was anyway to do away with the http:// part, as it would be much easier for me.

I know some other boards that send me notifications are in this format that allows me to just click directly on the link and go to the page.

No problems if I have to keep on cutting and pasting into my browser.
