I agree that this is probably most of the problem.

But then there are some really smart teens out there that just want to see if they can beat the big companies. Dumb a$$es don't realize they are making the companies richer.

Then some get hired by these companies and get paid big bucks to do it for them.

Endless cycle to get our money.

No, you're not the only one to suggest that the Anti-Virus companies are the ones responsible for new viruses. It's a common conspiracy theory in the IT industry.

But, as far as I know, a virus has never been traced to an AV company. Most viruses are made by kids who might otherwise be vandalizing property or shooting small animals.
