looks pretty good, i would add something in the space -(no pun intended) to the bottom right, but you don't want it to be too busy.

    overall a pretty good job

    I don't get it...

Outer glow on planet looks kinda cheesy in the top right of the planet.
I guess I like it I just don't get it...

Re: My first space scene, second attempt at a desktop

It's a good first attempt, but there are a few things that could be fixed. The stars should be little points, not little lines. Unless the viewer of this image is directly between the sun and the planet, part of the planet should be shaded, and as someone else mentioned, the outer glow for the atmosphere cuts off too sharply. When I first tried space scenes, I found these tutorials by Greg Martin, who is possible the best space artist on the web. Certainly, he's the best I've seen. Try them out, they should give you some good ideas about the shading and that type of stuff.

You know what Lotza, if your using cs2 I have a plug-in that created planets and stars. I don't know if your just experimenting or trying to learn or what, but there is a plugin that will probably do better.

I don't use it very often, but you can create any planet you want change cloud cover, weather, solar rays.....star fields....

It's fun to play with. Let me know.

They make us use them at work. So I have a bout a plug in for everything. I think I have like 270 plugins or something. All I know is even with 3gig of ram it takes a while to fire up ol CS2
