I think there are a few people who would make good Mods. IMO you have to be a certain type of person/poster to be a mod. You obviously have to be sensible. I don't think that a person without much experience should be a mod obviously, but I think they don't have to be one of the older members. Here are quite a few people I think would make good mods. I think that we should maybe get at least one younger mod, gotta start training them in for when all you old posters whither away at your keyboards

My list obviously starts with Ultras clone.

Baumy, I would really love to see what Baumy would do if he had mod powers. I think that would be awesome

Vikes_King
V4L
SnoBum (where the hell has he been?)
SKOL
Cojo (if he comes back)
Singer
6
Del, if he would ever come back.
NodakPaul
Ned
Some of these people would probably have to spend more time on here to get to be a mod, but I think any of these would make good mods.

Its interesting how some of you seem to want a more dictatorial administration of this board.
Do we miss the occasional double post in here?
Yes it happens.
Its
funny how when we lock a thread someone gets bent and says we are doing too much moding, or that we are playing favorites, or that we are intolerant of opinions, etc.
I usually come on late at night and generally look things over.
Sometimes there are only 3-4 members on line.
I tend not to do much unless it is a definite no no on the board.
We have a forum that only mods and admin can get into.
We often post there to keep an eye on this or that or,
what should be done with so and so.
Although we are not on 24/7 usually there is one and we cover about 18 hrs out of the day collectively.
Collectively we see most of what is happening on the board.
Even though lately we haven't been locking threads, scolding double posts or banning people and giving out dots, that's partly because we have you all so well trained now.
;D ;D
Its off season and there isn't just a whole lot of problems on the board to moderate.
However if some of you think you are not getting enough mod attention, I will be happy to give you a green dot if it will make you feel better modded on the board.
;D
And you guys are doing a great job! We have many new members on here and many are joining up. I don't think it would hurt to have at least one or two more mods. I agree that you guys do have us pretty well trained, lol. And honestly I have seen a some newbs come in here thinking they were the next Del Rio and get bitched out by the regulars and then they are alright. The great group of regulars (that you guys have trained well
) on this site really helps out. Most of the time the regulars will straighten the trouble makers out without to much official mod intervention. They learned pretty quick how it was here on pp.o and they adapted and now they are alright. But I just think having one or two more mods on a growing site wouldn't hurt.
Btw, I am not one of those people who have complained about the mods being to strict or picking favorites. I have never done that. I have never complained about the mods. Period.
And I wouldn't mind a dot
I think it would look good next to my posts

No actually I thought of you, but you aren't online enough! So get online and post more, bro! And then you will get the coveted DaVike mod nomination

Besides Ultra gets such a kick out of smacking someone around I hate to take that away frm him.
We mods figure that if we let him hammer people in here it will keep him off the streets where he could do some real damage.

We have a forum that only mods and admin can get into.

The boards function extremely well around here IMHO. If anything, I think that occasionally some mods get a little too overzealous in trying to keep things orderly (and I do mean just a little, teensy-weensy, tiny, miniscule bit
;D). I see part of the fun of these boards is that sometimes they get a tad rowdy, and sometimes people push the envelope. But as long as it doesn't cross a certain line of good taste, it can only make the overall PP.O experience more entertaining (and isn't that what we're all here for?).
So I guess in summation, until people can point to specific problems where we would need to add more mods to regulate, there is no need.
AND TO THE MODS: You guys and gals frickin' rock. Excellent work all of you!

Re: Mod Elections
I should note I do monitor who is helping and is not here.
As always, each summer, I take nominations and volunteers for new mods and other content help around the site.
I have my eyes on the site, even if I am quiet and just enjoy watching the banter.
Course, I spend most time responding to angry people in email and PM.
Because we are soooooo meannnnnnnn around here! geez guys!

Re: Mod Elections
I'm the first to admit I haven't been here nearly as much as I had been in the past/probably should be. Life seems to have sped up quite a bit.
When I was nominated/given a mod position I was posting probably 10 times a day and I would log on 4 or 5 times throughout the day. Now I am lucky if I am able to get on once.
Modding is one of those things that needs consistency. You have to be here several times a day to spot duplicate threads and to know what has to be cleaned up around here.
