Lotus Notes to MS conversion program
Ok here's one for the techy guys in here
;D
My company has just started a migration to move us off Lotus Notes and onto MS Outlook 2003. That has gone fairly smoothly and they have provided some tools for migrating information. However the program for converting my old archive files ( .NSF ) to an Outlook format ( .PST ) is crap. The program they is supplied by our IT dept ( who are in Egypt ) and the documentation is in french.. so naturally they won't support any problems - go figure
So does anyone know of a freeeware program that is available that can either convert .NSF to .PST or a program that I can use to view the .NSF files.
At the moment I will have Lotus Notes on my machine so can view the old stuff via that if I have to, however if my machine crashed or was rebuilt etc then it's unlikely that IT would put LN back on again. So I need to be able to keep my archives for future as there's a lot of important info in them.
Anyone able to help at all ?
Thanks

Sorry, this won't be helpful at all, but I need to rant:
Lotus Notes sucks ass.
I've been working in IT since 1990 and have used Mainframe-based, web-based, Exchange, Outlook, Netscape-mail, AOL mail, etc. etc. etc. and Lotus Notes is - BY FAR - the biggest piece of shite I've ever used - for what it SHOULD be able to do.
AOL mail sucked rocks - but it didn't pretend to be something better.
Notes is a piece of crap.
Be glad your company is dumping it.

I never thought I would praise a Microsoft product, but Outlook - FOR WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO - is not all that bad.
And it doesn't crash on shutdown - as Notes does here - 3 times a week.

I agree.
We migrated one of our biggest clients off from Notes last year - only they used it for an entire infrastructure roles and permissions management system that was tied into their intranet.
Talk about a pain in the ass...

This whole company is tied to IBM.
So much so that I'm honestly surprised they're not running OS/2.

Re: Lotus Notes to MS conversion program
I don't find Lotus Notes to be too bad.
I haven't had the Crashing on shutdown problem that you mentioned.
The web browsing is crap, but I don't use it.
I do truly hate Outlook though (mind you, I only have the 2007 version)
I hate the layout, the look, and most of the functionality.
