IE 8.0
So - I upgraded the home machine to IE 8.0 and now when I try to reply to long posts, the text window jumps all over the place.
Any advice (outside of "Go back to IE 7" or "Get Firefox") for fixing that?
=Z=
Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I've had that issue on my moms laptop before, where you'd start typing and all of a sudden you're now typing in the middle of your post.
I really have no idea what might be the case.
I googled it, and it seems its just a bug with IE8, however a solution recommended was try switching to compatability mode.
I don't konw how to do that, since I don't use IE, but I don't imagine its too hard to figure out.

The compatibility mode switch did the trick.

I'm not sure what else compatability mode does, but I guess you'll find out eventually.

I find Firefox much less of a hassle than IE.
but to each their own I guess.
I've started using Chrome a bit too, takes some getting used to, but it seems pretty decent as well.

Re: IE 8.0
Awhile back I went to IE 8 and hated it.
So I downloaded IE 7 again and used that.
Then my eyes were open to Firefox.
I love it!
It is way faster and much more secure.
Most of my family and friends have made the switch as well.

Re: IE 8.0
IE8 is the best browser out there.
Firefox laid a HUGE egg with Firefox 3.5 - it indexed on every startup, making it take up to 30 seconds to open.
It is better now with a patch, but still...
I have Firefox, IE 6 (through a hack), IE 7, IE 8, Safari, and Chrome all installed on my computer at work for work reasons.
I was always a firefox fan, but now IE8 is by FAR my favorite.Zeus wrote:
