Thanks I have had several people recommond imperial palace. I may have to look into that further
I consider myself a Vegas expert. I have been there so many times for work. Try to stay away from weeks that have a lot of conventions. Hotels rates will be higher. They mosts shows are in the beginning of the year but they are happening all the time.
You want to stay close to the center of the strip. I recommend Imperial Palace because of price and location. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean. You are rarely in your room so forget the expensive hotels because they are not worth it. You can always see them all by walking the strip. They all are worth walking through. The Imperial Palace has a club right in front of it which is cheaper than most clubs ($10) and is always a good time. There is also an outdoor bar on the Imperial Palace lot that is fun if it is warmer out. O'sheas is close by and alwasys a good place to get cheap beer, food, and a more laidback gambling. Imperial Palace is cool because every night they have impersonators singing like Micheal Jackson. The guy is really good and the best part is that it is free.
Don't forget to check out the Pirate ship show in front on the IT, the fountains at the Belligio, and and volcano eruption at a nearby hotel (I forget the name of it).
The best buffet is at Paris but it is expensive ($25). Just try it.
Cab drivers will try to screw you so be careful. They tend to take longer routes on purpose. If it is more than $15 from the airport to the hotel do not tip them much. Also, rides to the strip clubs are free because they get a spiff. Ask before you get a ride to them. If you want to go to high ends clubs like Rain or Ghostbar or basically any clubs like that ask cab drivers for passes. They have them and will give them to you. It saves you a $30 cover charge.
Working girls are everywhere but you will be with your wife so they will leave you alone. They are on me like flys.
The best part about Vegas is being able to drink on the streets.
