i think it would be awesome if webby added some youtube and googlevideo php tags to the post reply page. that way instead of having link to cool videos from youtube and googlevideo you have the player and video right there in your post. it's an actual feature, i'm not making it up, and it's really cool. what do ya think?
maybe maybe. but then people on slow connections get screwed with the videos loading. Providing a link to the video is much more friendly for all.
Takes alot of bandwidth to be running vids also.
the way it works is that the video doesn't start until you press play, so i'm pretty sure people with dialup could view the page at their normal snails pace without the video taking up their bandwidth
I think links are just fine, because those of us with crappy dial up(ME) have trouble seeing php tags.
Those video files call an application on your computer, initialize and make calls to the originating video. All takes time and CPU effort...we strive to keep this functional for folks in all corners of the world....so I think links are okay for now. We have something in store in the new site, Yogi.
