Yeah, it is a joke that he can abuse prescription medicine for years, or molest children, or lead police on a high speed drunken chase through residential neighborhoods...
Oh wait, those were all packers.

Those who live in glass houses.
Sorry if it was taken in poor taste.. it was meant in contrast to the graphic displayed within the thread.. nothing more.

However as far as me living in a glass house.. I am pretty clear that it doesn't matter the color of the jersey they wear. Search the pf.com and you will see that I don't have a bias towards those that break the law.. they should be punished in accordance with the law.. they have the right to a second chance and I personally hope they succeed.

Do I think people should question Favre's streak because of the pain killers issue? I think it is at least a debateable topic. He was forced into the NFL substance abuse process and he worked his tail off to kick the habit.. a drug induced comma will do that to a person. Since admitting himself to treatment he has walked the path.

Did I support the year rip the KRob got, absolutely. Did I hope as a person that was behing him, 100%.

Chewy.. Personally I think it was BS that he didn't serve more time, and honestly should be in the sex offenders program.. there is no grey line there for a 30 plus year old man.. absolutely wrong.

Al Harris and Nick Barnett situations last year, I think should have drawn a little attention from the NFL as well.

Now do I think Allen got off light as well.. yes I do.. 3 strikes is 3 strikes.

No need for me to throw stones at the glass house.. I shattered those panes long ago.. wrong is wrong no matter the color of the jersey.

Now.. do I think Allen gets it.. autographing a DUI ticket for a fan doesn't quite equate taking your problem serious.. unless I am taking that out of context too.
    Fair enough.

As far as the ticket autographing, yes it does demonstrate a level of immaturity.
However, nobody is certain exactly when Allen signed it - if I am not mistaken the DUI ticket was from 2005, but the blog post on it went up in 2007. And it starts out with "I've been meaning to post this for a while now..."
    http://www.arrowheadpride.com/story/2007/7/8/201310/3083

I think it is safe to say that this was prior to his issues in 2006.
And obviously he hadn't figured it out at that point.

At every media event, Allen has been very open with his alcohol issues in the past.
He has not shied from any question, and he has said time and time again that the mistakes were his, and he regrets the decisions he made in the past.
He has also said that he loves the game of football, and does not want to do anything to jeopardize that.
I am not an expert on alcoholism, but that sounds like he is taking it pretty serious to me.

Re: Could i get a Jared Allen sig please????

My understanding is that favre has always been a pretty heavy drinker too. He never got in any trouble for it, doesn't mean he doesn't have a problem.
Here's what Brett's wife had to say about it.
    http://www.todaystmj4.com/bloggers/lanceallan/10565901.html

"I had all his belongings packed and waiting in the courtyard of the house. I'd become so desperate that I'd called a divorce attorney ... He came into the house and begged me to let him stay , but I was firm. 'If you're not going to quit drinking , you can leave , ' I told him. 'I'm not going down that road again; I'm done. I've already spoken to an attorney.' ... The attorney called while Brett was begging me to reconsider , and Brett heard me tell her I was ready to file; that I was done and there was no changing my mind ... [Later] I told Brett that if he didn't get out of my house , I would call 911. I called his agent [Bus Cook] , and Bus came to pick him up. Brett told Bus to take him to the airport , because he was going to check himself into rehab again.

Cool.. I guess I really haven't followed his public appearances that much since he signed with the Vikes.. either way I hope his troubles are behind him and that people can learn from him. Go out, have fun but be responsible and have someone drive you home.

    Sept yet?

There is no doubt that Favre had his issues.. drinking was just one.. going to school there in the early nineties and hitting the bars.. you seen Favre out and about.. 92 and 93 before he became the god like status in Green Bay.. throw in Winters and Chewy and a couple of others.. they hit it hard no doubt.

I think Z had it right on for the most part, with the noted addition of jargo.
I thought that was Marty's mother in law too.
I also think that is VikesQueen sitting on the ground.
And if I am not mistaken, I think WildWoman is holding a jello shot.
I think (yes it is Wildwomans Mother Pat) if you look real close both of those two lushes (Wildwoman and Pat) were sucking on jellos shooters.
Both got pretty squirrelly that day on something unlike me who maintained a sense of sobriety..... ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

    You forgot the following rapists;

    John Jefferson

    James Lofton

    Mosey Cade

Both Favre & Deanna were arrested after drinking one night. I believe they were trying to start a fight with someone.
