avatar problem
O.k. i'm not new to using imageshack or photobucket, but i'm having trouble trying to submit a new avatar. It says avatar must be less than 6kb, if my 80x80 avatar is over 6kb, then how the hell are other users using the same size avatars without exceeding the 6kb size limit???? I'm just frustrated, if I resize the image in photoshop anymore, you wont be able to see the darn thing!
I'm sure there's an easy answer, so please someone help.
thanks.

Re: avatar problem
Some of the older avatars are just a but bigger because on the old site the maximum was higher.
All I do is find the image I want and save it in photobucket. I resize from there.
If it is a common image, I may find different sizes and resize until one fits without being to small.
What do you want for an Avatar?

Re: avatar problem
Don't resize it use the JPEG or GIF compression utility to make the size smaller. Its not the actual size its the # of bits in the image that counts. Make it 80x80 then run through the export as a jpeg to compress.

Re: avatar problem
The only thing I can tell you is to save it as a .GIF instead of JPEG in photoshop. My jpeg size was like 23k, while the gif made it less than 4. Try that.
