Anyone familiar with itunes?
I just got a new laptop so I've been trying to transfer my music from my old computer onto my new computer using a travel drive otherwise known as a thumb drive.
For some reason though not all of my songs transferred over and some of them couldn't play because it said the song could not be found.
Does anyone have any idea why this happened and how I can get ALL my songs transferred over?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone familiar with itunes?
Can you put them on a CD and then download them to the new computer?
Another option is to email them to yourself. I've done that with files that wouldn't transfer anyway else.
I did use two different emails, my regular one and Gmail so they wouldn't get delivered to the same computer.

Hey Babe,
The woman said easiest way to xfr is to burn to CD from your old computers hard drive.
That way also, you have a back up next time ... Just her suggestion.

Re: Anyone familiar with itunes?
Thanks for the ideas guys, I think I might actually have it figured out now.
It's been so frustrating though, been working on it for hours!
We'll see if it works in the end but I think this time it is.l

Ok well I thought it was working but it wasn't.
I finally got all my songs on itunes, or so I thought but when I click on the song to play it it says it cannot be used because the original file could not be found.
I don't know what the heck that means or how I fix it but this is frustraing.

Re: Anyone familiar with itunes?
first delete all the titles of the songs your trying to load up from your library on itunes so you don't have duplicats when we're done
make a folder on somewhere and then copy all the songs from the thumb drive into the folder. the go to itunes and click file-> Add Folder to Library, find the folder you saved the songs to and click ok, then all the songs will appear in your library. keep that folder on your computer because itunes is just linking to them
whats probably happening is itunes is just linking to your thumb drive so when you remove it all the song files go with it, so itunes has no file to play

I'm trying that right now and it looks like it's working.
Hopefully it won't take too much longer I'm tired!
