Re: Utah Viking Fan, transplanted from Garrison, MN.
I believe the walleye in garrison was built because Garrison, MN and Garrison, ND are two places trying to get the title, "Walleye Fishing Capital of the World." I believe Minnesota is the city that finally got recognized because of the quality and quantity of the walleye. If it was not for the Indians netting that lake the amount of walleye able to be kept would be much higher. Living in that area, the whole Indian netting thing angers me alot because they use the fish for the ceremonies and they do use it to sell at the casinos and such. If Netting is illegal it should be illegal for everyone, but the government is to chicken to say anything to the Indians.
Well off that subject sorry about it lol... Mille Lacs lake pretty much rocks otherwise lol... I remember the Vikings coming to the Blue Goose in Garrison and riding with them on the lake with snowmobiles.
Thank you KevinK.

Excellent post, I hope to hear many, many more from you.
I was worried at first that maybe Thor had gotten to you first with the gospel of Purple Jesus, but was relieved to find you are just a very creative person.
Post often and enjoy yourself.
Welcome!

Re: Utah Viking Fan, transplanted from Garrison, MN.
Nice! I agree, amazing first post.
In your book, I think there should be some sort of "Prehistory" of the Vikings... the initial push for a team in the area, the local support for a team there, the design and color scheme... to the present day Vikings that will beat the Colts in the Super Bowl this year.
Welcome to the site!!!Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Welcome to the site!Hello fellow Viking fans,
I am typing this from the very lonely Saint George Utah. I grew up in Garrison, Minnesota; I have been a Viking fan since 1995, at the age of 8. My parents tried to raise me as a packer fan; they grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and were more sympathetic to the Packer religion. When I started to bleed purple and make the Vikings my team, my parents converted to the truth, Vikingism. Throughout my stay in Minnesota I was able to go to a game a year and very rarely missed a game. As of 2005 I moved to Saint George, Utah were I still follow the Vikings religiously. The sad thing about this state though is if the game isn't the Utah Jazz nothing matters what-so-ever. I walk through the valley of the shadow of failure, yet I stand firm in my love of the Vikings. I am able to keep up with them through such means as Vikings.com, NFL.com, and the NFL Network. I also purchase NFL Sunday Ticket every season. I plan to take the trip northward and attend the November 30th game against the Chicago Bears. If any of you are planning to tailgate beforehand let me know, it would be nice to visit with some Viking fans.
I am in the process of writing a book about the Vikings actually. I have searched and searched for a book about the entirety of the Minnesota Viking history, but have found nothing. I am still deciding how to go about putting it together, however, I have an idea... I am thinking about just doing it Chronologically, with important Viking player profiles every so often. Any ideas would be awesome. Also if there are any Viking Fans near Saint George, Utah who want to catch a beer sometime... That would be awesome.
Your Utah's #1 Viking Fan,
Erik D.
I'm from, and currently live, in Crosby, but I'm very familiar with Garrison. You must have gone to the "Goose" for some of the Arctic Blast events, I've met quite a few players and coaches there.

KevinK,
Yeah man Crosby, what a fun town lol, its as boring as Garrison was. Except for fishing and hunting and drinking (wasn't old enough then) was the only fun things to do as I remember. If you visited the SuperAmerica in Garrison between 04 and 05 u probably saw me, I was the giant lol. Yeah I used to live on Central street by the Garrison Alliance Church... Oh well that lake is thee best though.
