Utah Viking Fan, transplanted from Garrison, MN.

    Hello fellow Viking fans,

I am typing this from the very lonely Saint George Utah. I grew up in Garrison, Minnesota; I have been a Viking fan since 1995, at the age of 8. My parents tried to raise me as a packer fan; they grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and were more sympathetic to the Packer religion. When I started to bleed purple and make the Vikings my team, my parents converted to the truth, Vikingism. Throughout my stay in Minnesota I was able to go to a game a year and very rarely missed a game. As of 2005 I moved to Saint George, Utah were I still follow the Vikings religiously. The sad thing about this state though is if the game isn't the Utah Jazz nothing matters what-so-ever. I walk through the valley of the shadow of failure, yet I stand firm in my love of the Vikings. I am able to keep up with them through such means as Vikings.com, NFL.com, and the NFL Network. I also purchase NFL Sunday Ticket every season. I plan to take the trip northward and attend the November 30th game against the Chicago Bears. If any of you are planning to tailgate beforehand let me know, it would be nice to visit with some Viking fans.

I am in the process of writing a book about the Vikings actually. I have searched and searched for a book about the entirety of the Minnesota Viking history, but have found nothing. I am still deciding how to go about putting it together, however, I have an idea... I am thinking about just doing it Chronologically, with important Viking player profiles every so often. Any ideas would be awesome. Also if there are any Viking Fans near Saint George, Utah who want to catch a beer sometime... That would be awesome.

    Your Utah's #1 Viking Fan,

    Erik D.

    Welcome!
Anyone from a town with a giant statue of a walleye is alright by me.

Although now that I think of it, there isn't many towns in that area that don't have a giant animal statue.

Thanks all I am glad I found this place. "lakehubertviking" i believe the fish in your picture is of the walleye in Garrison, ND. The one in Garrison MN looks like this...

When I was lighter I used to climb into the mouth of the walleye... oh the good 'ole days.

You're right I'm sure, I'm from the Brainerd area and I just remember passing it along with the deer in Deerwood, the serpent in Crosby, and Paul and Babe in Brainerd on my way to the casino.
Odd that both Garrison's have a walleye statue though I wonder if that is some obscure law?

    Amazing first post.
Have a feeling you may have MANY people hear that will read your book when its published. The people on the site could teach all of us the history of the Vikings.
Everyday I come on this site and feel updated to all the current Vikings info.
Welcome and feel free to post..........
