I'm trying to remotely help a family member with a cable install. He's unsure if his dish could be mounted in the same place to upgrade to HD... But doesn't want to pay the outlay to get a guy out to mangle holes into his house.
Long story short, anyone here do satellite installs and wouldn't mind making $20 to do a quick site visit?
the placement of the dish has nothing to do with receiving HD. I used my old dish cable to hook up my verizon fios..with the direct tv cable, which required 2 lines, I just split the wire, only using one. I hope that helps
Yeah not really. I know the placement doesn't matter. Not really what I am asking. He doesn't like to always replace things that 'don't need replacing' but would like the HD.
He wants to get a SWM system into his house to have whole home DVR with HD. So, not even sure his cable is RG6 compatible... And he doesn't want to place an order to be committed to programming without knowing his house could handle it without them running a ton of new cables...
So if I could get a friendly PP.o friend who would take $20 to do a walk through and let me know, then I could have him get the parts and do the install when I am up for the Detroit game...
