New Guy from the Old South

Greetings Purple Nation. I'm a sometime lurker who finally got scared from all the threats against my health and decided to get off the bench and get in the game! I'm originally (and currently) from Birmingham, Al :shock: but spent 7 blissful years in the Twin Cities from 91-98. I got two things there that have changed my life immeasurably for the better: a wife and a passion for the Vikings.

I've been really impressed with the quality of the material you guys throw out on a daily basis, even at this time of year when news can be pretty slow for the NFL. I hope to make my contributions thoughful, relevant and coherent, at least as coherent as a middle-age, ex-pothead can be!

Welcome Bama, I will be traveling through your fair state this week. I am leaving tomorrow morning for Decatur, and may even make it down there to Birmingham later in the week. If I do you can rest assured I will be making a stop at my favorite Sports Bar P.T.'s for a big helping of Red Beans and Rice. Man I love their Red Beans and Rice!

Is there a dedicated Vikings hangout on gamedays at a particular sportsbar somewhere in Bham?

I am originally from south central LA (Louisiana, that is), so I have a soft spot in my heart for the South as well. They sure do grow some of the best people in the world, if I do say so myself!!!
