And I'm an alcoholic.. people have always told me I should kick my drinking habits.. after a while I convinced myself I could but I was only kidding myself... I'll never listen to them again.. and what it all comes down to is.. is that rehab, well, it's for quitters.

Seriously, a drinking problem is NOT funny. I have a problem that I go to meetings for EVERY WEEK: gambling. Having an addiction is nothing to laugh about.

Just my two cents worth.

Agreed. I grew up with an alcoholic mother for 14 years. Just a shame.
I don't think a lot of people realize how common an addiction to gambling is. I see a lot of it at work. My former boss/best friend almost lost his whole family because of it. Sad.

True that...keep on keepin' on, Shock...I respect the hell outta ya for meeting the issue head on...we all have way too much to lose to let any one thing take over our lives.

When it starts affecting your marriage/family, that's the time to get things under control. I was lucky, I just lost money. I didn't lose my marriage, or house, or car, or go to jail or do anything illegal. Some people aren't so lucky; gambling can destroy your whole life. I've met some people that could tell you some AMAZING stories, and they just kept on going, knowing the whole time they were ruining their own and their families lives. Some STILL gamble, and keep coming to meetings anyway.
