Minnesota Vikings Cake (the cake is not a lie)

So last night, my family and close friends took me out to celebrate my upcoming 30th birthday next Wednesday. Living in Austin, TX, you may be surprised to hear the majority of football fans prefer the Dallas Cowboys. I know, big surprise right? /sarcasm

So we are in a large, fairly upscale restaurant in an affluent part of town, drinking, laughing it up, and from my seat, I actually had a view of the Cowboys/Vikings game on the TV, which was nice. My wife took it upon herself to order me an insane custom cake, the likes of which you see on those TV shows on the Food Network and what not.

So after dinner, the wait staff brings out this monolith of a cake that must have weighed about 13 pounds. The photos just cannot do it justice. Let me just say that people were standing up from their tables all over to see this cake, even the Dallas homers.

Skol. I'll see you all in Minnesota for the Detroit game.

Make no mistake- this was all the doing of the wife. She's the bomb.

She also insisted after we return to Texas from the Detroit game that we fly to KC the following weekend to spend time with her sister and brother-in-law... which means Vikings in Kansas City. Epic. Life. Win.

So awesome dude! And happy belated birthday. I'm thinking about making the trip to KC as well, but it's an 8 hour drive from Indy, and I may be making the trip by myself.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! It hasn't happened yet, so you're on time! Birthday is Wednesday. We're going to South Padre Island (Texas' version of Panama City Beach, FL) for the weekend so we did the birthday dinner last night.

You should make the drive. It would have been 11 hours in the car for us, but we found cheap airfare non-stop from Austin, which never happens. So it was a done deal. I took me all of 40 minutes to book airfare and have tickets to the game in my hands...

My name is Greg, but I am not 30. Probably take me 7 years to save up for a cake like that anyways.

Happy early Birthday! Glad you had a good time during the game. Hope you have a great day on Wednesday
