On January 9, 1977, the Minnesota Vikings lost to the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XI, 32-14, their fourth Super Bowl loss in seven years.

Eighteen months later, I was born.

The Vikings have not been to a Super Bowl since.

That pretty much sums it up.

Born and raised in Minnesota, currently in Fargo. I've been lurking on this site for a few months now, but have not posted until recently. Like a chump, I tried to start a Randy Moss trade topic before reading the newbie rules and it immediately got locked. Sorry about that, my mistake.

As for that sweet can of SKOL beer I may be lucky enough to receive, I've actually had that stuff. It's Danish if I'm not mistaken. I was studying abroad a few years back and brought home a 4-pack of the stuff for a buddy of mine (we have a death pact to watch the Vikings in the Super Bowl together if/when they get there, no matter how old we are or how far apart we live).

Anyway, I'll pipe up from time to time now that I feel a bit more comfortable with the lay of the land, but if you don't hear from me for a while, it's not because I've jumped ship. It takes more than egomanical fatass coaches and swindling car-salesman owners to scare this fool away from the purple and gold. One day the sun will shine on all of us who have toughed it out through the dark times (some of you have seen worse than myself, I know). That will be a glorious day indeed.

I will leave with a haiku for our recently departed #84:
