Hi fellow Vikings fans. I am a long time Vikings fan. I was born the same year the Vikings were, in 1961 hence the name.

I love what I saw from Ponder tonight and I love the fact that the Vikings were shrewd enough to lure McNabb here on a one year deal. We can all see Ponder's potential but also his typical rookie mistakes. He is definitely a year away from being a bonafide NFL starting QB and maybe 2 years.

Adrian Peterson is an absolute beast. I expect this to be his biggest year ever.

Percy Harvin may be the best player in the NFL if he can stay healthy. He is that good.

I love the McKinnie for Charlie Johnson swap, I think this is going to be huge for the team camaraderie and cohesion on the offensive line.

I expect about 8-8 because of a weak WR core and suspect defense, especially pass coverage buy I see bright days ahead for this team.

Welcome! Some dude named Marty might go tell you our OL is awesome and we are a playoff team, but ignore him. More people who are realistic is always great. Love that you see the potential, but know that we're not perfect. Here's to this season *raises drink* Lets f* some s* up.

Welcome aboard the Great Viking Ship to Valhalla!!! Love your introductory post! I'm about the same age and probably have seen the same amount of hope and disappointment as you have. I agree with your assessment. I may be a little more optimistic than you, but it's nice to be grounded in reality too!

Welcome, to both the site and the "old farts" club. I came into the league in '64.

You'll find that a great many people agree with your assessment of this season's team. Some are a bit more optimistic, some more pessimistic, but that's to be expected anywhere, right?
