Hey!! Who Let The British Guy In Here?!
Afternoon all.. Well, it is for me at least, for the majority of you it's not even midday!
Er.. Well.. If we're going to start off on the right foot, I suppose I have a confession to make. I kinda, maybe, possibly made a post in a different thread before making my own Newbie Intro. I know, I know, rookie mistake, and I'm sorry. Phew.. Now I feel better I might as well get into it a little about my love for the Vikes and all things Minnesotan..
2 years ago I was afforded the opportunity to study at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I had the time of my life up there (I'm back home now of course), and was introduced to American Football (forgive me but I can't call it football, the 'Beautiful Game' has monopolised the name for me) by a couple of guys who lived down the hall, and my room-mate. Well, actually it was Madden 2004 that did it, but that's a minor detail.
So I played Madden constantly, forsaking class after class (well, to be honest just Racial History, but then that class was at 9am Thursday mornings and the tutor had an uncanny ability to make ANY subject infuriatingly monotonous), and slowly got better and better. Then the season started; and the Vikings were playing the Packers (I'm sure you all remember). Now, my room-mate was from Wisconsin, so you can guess who he supported. Being in Minnesota, I did as the Romans do, and followed the Vikes. The entire hall went ballistic when the Vikes took the lead.. and from then on I was hooked.
I also managed to see a game that season, no mean feat for an international student, and in the back end of the season when the Vikes were inconsistent at best, I was fortunate enough to see them humiliate the Seahawks in the Metrodome.. Watching Randy Moss run at full speed towards you with the ball hanging over his head is a sight I'll take with me forever.
So yeah.. Ramble aside, since that opening game of the 2003 regular season I've been a Vikes fan. It's taken me a while to find this place, but now that I'm here I know I've found a great site.
Thanks for your time.. Y'all.

Re: Hey!! Who Let The British Guy In Here?!
I agree awesome intro! Glad to have you on here! My question is are you able to get games out there? DirecTV kind of thing? I'd figure so, but there isn't that great of a market out there most of the international students I know make fun of the NFL. My buddies said that they thought soccer was tougher. To me it makes no sense at all, but thats the culture gap I guess. Anyway, once again welcome aboard! Sorry about the rant.

Official BBQ Platypus “Welcome to PP.O†Cookie-Cutter Form Letter:
Greetings, New Poster! As of now, my feelings toward you are completely neutral! May they remain neutral or better for many a month, before you say something that annoys me slightly until about a week later when I forget about it! Then, may they remain neutral again!
