A long time ago,(1960's) in a state not so far away,(WI) a young man watched two teams battle it out on the field of glory.
The field commanders (Starr and Kapp) drove their respective teams up and down the field. The commanding generals, (Lombardi and Grant) ran in plays and paced the sidelines adjusting their hats to and fro.
And even though the young man hailed from within 30 miles of the home of one team,(Lambeau) he choose the team from afar to root for.
For it was the call of the Vikings, the color purple, as well as the the way it annoyed his classmates that he could possibly root for a team other then the local favorite.
Throughout the years the young man followed his team through thick and thin, always hoping for that one Superbowl victory.
So here I am years later,(getting older) still waiting for that victory and still annoying Packer fans.(Mostly family from back home, but some others on 3 packer forums).
So that's a short version of my history. Glad to have another Vikings board to discuss things on.
