Hello

Hi,

I've been lurking for a long time and finally decided to join.

I have seen the Vikings play in person a few times in my life in Detroit (Saddest fanbase ever) and once in Buffalo (War Zone). I live about 50 miles from Detroit in Southwestern Ontario.

This year I am taking a road trip to Minneapolis to finally see the Vikings play in friendly territory against Green Bay on Nov 21.

The big question that I have is that I have been through the Twin Cities a couple of times in my life, but I don't know Minneapolis very well. Where is the best area to stay in the Twin Cities (with going out partying Sat night) and where is the best place for tailgating on Sunday? Is there any place where I can tailgate and pick up my car on Monday?

Welcome to the site.

The best tailgating spot is the one PP.O puts on. Right across from the stadium.

I checked out the tailgating section of the site and it looks pretty fun.

Couple of questions I am hoping someone can answer:

1) If I only need to bring food and beer, is it possible to go down there without driving? Is public transit to the stadium any good?

2) Do I need to buy tickets or something to get in?

1) would depend on where you're staying. If you're staying in the downtown area, public transportation is fairly accessible, but if you're staying outside of the downtown area it gets pretty iffy. You wouldn't be able to park in the actual tailgate lot, you'd have to pay for parking in a different lot.

2) I'm assuming that you're talking about tailgating and not the game... lol.. you don't need a ticket to tailgate, just good old fashion purple pride :-) (we will be hospitable to other team fans though)

Purplepride puts on a GREAT tailgate for us and a great time is always had by all. Hope to meet you there! SKOL!
