Greetings from the Sunshine State
Hello everyone!
I've been reading this forum for quite some time and finally decided to contribute to the conversation.
First let me tell you all a little about myself.
Born in Minnesota, raised in Florida. I've been a Vikings fan for as long as I can remember.
My dad is Packer fan so it's a war in my household when we play them.
The first players I remember following closely were Cris Carter, John Randle, and Jake Reed.
As you can imagine, we don't get too many televised Vikings games on National Television.
When I became old enough I drove myself to bars to catch the games on sundays(Wasn't old enough to drink at that point).
Now I'm 22 and I don't have to go to bars anymore to catch the Vikes. I can sit at home on my sofa and drink beer, jaeger bombs, and soco doctor peppers because I've got Direct TV.
8)
Happiest moment as a Vikings fan:
When we drafted Randy Moss I was jumping around like a pogo stick
Saddest moment as a Vikings fan: The day I found out we traded Randy Moss...
As you can guess my all time favorite Viking is Randy Moss.
As far as i am concerned, besides Barry Sanders, Randy Moss is the most exciting football player that ever lived.
I get tears to my eyes watching Randy clips on youtube.
Like this one for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlg38OuwVWA
Another moment that shortened my life expectancy was when Gary Anderson who hadn't missed a field goal the entire season shanked one against Atlanta in the championship game.
I died a little bit that day
My outlook on the rest of this season is like many of the rest of you: optimistic, but reserved because of how many times this team has been burned by bad luck.
Deaths, off field incidents, crappy owners etc.
I'm a madden video game junkie(although I mute Madden in the game)
My favorite college team is UF.
My dream is to one day watch the Vikings play in the dome.
I've only seen them play at the Sombrero(Tampa's old stadium)
If there is one thing I have learned in all my time learning about football, it's that defense wins championships. And I'd say our defense is top notch.

Welcome!
While I miss MOSS as well, right now it appears we got him during his prime . . . but I'd love to get him back and find out!

Re: Greetings from the Sunshine State
Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I can't wait for the game tomorrow.
It's time to start proving to the disbelievers that this team is for real!
The offense needs to move the ball, and the d needs to keep doing what they've been doing.
Let's see how Childress responds to a loss.
