    Greetings from the Cornbelt!

    LincolnVike Here:

I'm originally from Iowa, but am currently displaced in Lincoln, Nebraska (NOT a Cornhusker fan, by any means).
Diehard Vikes fan since middle school, but currently have the displeasure of all Lincoln/Omaha area TV stations deciding to show Broncos or *Censored due to "green and gold" content"* games instead.
Here are my views on purple-related material...just to see where I fit in:

Coach Chilly: Texans game aside, he's pretty damn onery as our coach.
No creativity, fear of scoring points and kinda seems to be a fraud anymore (Offensive guru?
    What?!)
Granted he coached a great game this past weekend, it's gonna take more than that for me to be sold on the guy.

Coaching Staff: Frazier is pretty decent, though lately it seems the defense has been lax, IMO.
Bevell to Childress is like Mugsy to Rocky; kinda seems to be the clumsy one when making decisions.
Ferraro...I sure hope he got his backside chewed out after those horrendous performances.

The Wilfs: Good bunch of guys here trying to pump some money into what was a very bleak situation.
They'll have a permanent place in our hearts when (yeah, I said WHEN) the new stadium is built.

Los Angeles Vikings: ...can blow it out my crusty white jiggly butt.

T-Jack: Good kid with a good head on his shoulders who was thrown in the lion's den way too early.
I hope he's taking in everything Frerotte is showing him.

    The Williamses and Jared Allen:
    Need I say anything?

....I guess i share some very similar views.
Oh well, I got that out of the way.
    Nice to meet you all!

Welcome - I'm displaced in Omaha myself... you ever wanna get together to watch a game let me know....
actually my hockey team/Fantasy football crew has some Vikes fans...

Hell on a game where we get it on Omaha, I watch it on a 125" screen in the basement....

Plus I'm a Tigers fan - I don't cheer against the Huskers but I root for LSU and Minnesota first.

    Here's the saying:
    Eastern Iowa likes the Hawkeyes
    Central Iowa likes the Cyclones
Western Iowa likes anybody who beats Nebraska.
    ;D

I may have to take you up on that offer!
My wife and I have only been in Linc for 10 months and don't know very many people.
Granted I have a nice 32" LCD flatscreen....well, a 125 incher puts that to shame.
Being a poor post-college student doesn't help the fact either.

    And yourself?

Sweet, well keep in touch on here... I am always happy to go catch a game...
I actually live in Papillion so it's closer than most places in Omaha...

I'm a poor grad student on internship so my wife (living in MN) takes out more in loans each year than I make..... so I feel your pain.
The projector has a great story behind it.... it was for the wedding reception!

    Funny you should say that.
This weekend is my wife's birthday and we're headed up to MPLS to see her twin sister and celebrate together.
The weekend just so happens to include either hanging out at some sports bar or tailgating during the game.
Any good hookups I should know about?
