Canadian fan new to purple pride

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to introduce myself. I've been a Vikings fan since the day I was born in 1970 in western Canada. My father is Swedish and so when the Vikings came into existence, so did our cheering for the Vikes. I've visited Minnesota a couple of times but have never had the opportunity to see a game. If you've seen the episode of "How I Met Your Mother" where Robin goes to the Minnesotan bar in New York, you'll understand how CanucksAreVikingsToo.

Even though I've been a long distance fan for decades, I've never joined a fansite or posted on any discussion boards. The signing of Brett Favre is what motivated me to get active. Yes, I know he is a hall of fame QB. Yes, he has the experience, skills and poise that neither Tavaris nor Sage have but, dudes, he's Favre. The ultimate Packer. I've spent way too many years hating the guy to cheer for him now. It's Favre for crying out loud!

Brett Bloody Favre! Plus, he's older than I am. He's going to throw his arm right out of his sleeve by week 6. My blood will still be purple long after Favre checks into the nursing home he is bound for.
