I would rather have someone that can cover someone everyday then someone who gives up huge plays and gets lucky with some passes.

Russell will be fine in the Dime package, the reason for his sucess was defenses didn't respect him two years ago, he seems to have lost some of that instinct for the ball that he had then, and bottom line he's too slow to play safety in today's game. He was a starter on a poor defense, things have changed and Russell will use his best asset, his BRAIN, and remain content with backing up the best secondary in the NFl. YEah BOy!

Remeber also that Russell had all those tackles because our defense sucked last year and he had to stop every run that the LB didn't. Can you say OVERRATED!

I used to stick up for the guy until I went to the Vikes Skins game and saw how bad he really was in person.

I agree, I think Willie Offord would do a better job as a starter than Brian Russell can. Offord showed me more in the playoffs last season than Russell did the whole season.

In my opinion, Russell got most of his interceptions on tipped balls, which indicates to me he was late on the play anyway. We need a harder hitter at the safety spot and Russell doesn't do that. If he can get 9 INTs again like in 2003, then that's fine. If not, make some plays or sit on the bench.
