    Vikings vs the AFC

Over the last 2 seasons we are 1-7 vs the AFC with the only win coming last year against the pathetic Browns. We were swept this year by a far from exceptional AFC East. This is very sad to see us play so poorly against the AFC.

Things are not going to get any easier next year either. If im not mistaken the NFC North will match up against the AFC West again and there will likely be home games against San Diago and Oakland; with trips to KC and Denver for us.

Maybe we can beat the Raiders at home but those other 3 are gonna be tough, not saying we cant win but the AFC West is really good (except oakland)

I think we have been great this year. A perfect 0-4 against the AFC. It doesn't get much more steady than that.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

You are correct, our AFC home games next year will be Oakland and San Diego.
We will play Denver and KC away.

Here is our lineup for next year so far:
Chicago (2), Detroit (2), Green Bay (2), at Dallas, at New York Giants, vs. Philadelphia, vs. Washington, at Denver, at Kansas City, vs. Oakland, vs. San Diego.

If the season were to end today, we would also play at Carolina and vs St Louis based on the standings.

If we're going to lose it might as well be against the AFC, at least as far as tie breakers for reaching the playoffs in the NFC.
Right now we're 6-4 against NFC teams, so if somehow there's a logjam at 8-8 to make the playoffs we have an advantage.

I understand that thought and your right but if we cant even compete agaist the other Conferance that gives us no hope, even if hell freezes over and we make the playoffs.

Great.. I was actually looking forward to this season ending, and next season beginning.. Not the case anymore.. Looks like we will most likely have 2 losing seasons back to back..

You never really know how things will go from year to year though. Some of those good teams might fall off the face of the planet, while some of the bad teams might all of a sudden be world beaters.

Remember how we had the 2nd easiest schedule in the league this year based upon last year's records? We've all seen how THAT has worked out.

There is simply too much parity in the NFL to ever have an "easy" schedule.

Switch out the AFC West with the AFC South. All of a sudden we have the Colts, the Jaguars and the Titans. How about the AFC North? Would you rather play the Ravens, the Steelers and the Bengals?

Switch out the NFC East with the NFC South. Would you rather play the Falcons, Saints, Panthers and Bucs?

Like I said, every division is good. There's too much parity to get a favorable schedule anymore.

A schedule is only hard if your team doesn't execute it's plays.
