Re: Tyler Thigpen - A steal as a 7th round pick?
im not exactly comfortable with Thigpen's obsession with Favre.
It makes me question how true he is to Minnesota and the viking fans.
first, he says multiple times in interviews that he would love to meet Favre cuz he idolizes him, now he's suddenly changing his number to #4.....i just dont like it...6fafdbe42b6f45e963a6d9227bb0f4b0

Re: Tyler Thigpen - A steal as a 7th round pick?
Many good things for a first pre-season game. Tyler looked great playing against the other teams 2nd, and third teams, but what about Jason Carter getting that separation and making some plays. We have alot of work to do but I really like what I saw. No pre-snap penalties. Troy catching the football. Wade made a couple third down conversions, T-Jack was quick and accurate... AP had a burst. D-line had agood push, Robison's gonna be a beast.
But it's really nice to see our third gut Thigpen come in and rev it up. Whether or noy he's our future... I'll bet he's our 2nd guy next year.

He's definitely a 7th round steal.

My opinion is that this staff is one step ahead of most of us.
Maybe, just maybe, this kid was picked to be an insurance policy if for some unknown reason TJ doesn't pan out or gets hurt later on.
Don't ya think, don't ya?
;D
I did like what I saw not only from Tyler but all the rookies and second year guys.
Judging by what I saw (one preseason game) against the rams, we had a pretty good scheme defensively and offensively.
I know more points would have been a better indicator, however, when the starters left, we were ahead 3 to 0.
That my friend is not bad considering the fact that the Rams O was like in the top ten last year.
This staff is learning right along with these young kids.
Strap it on.
Gonna be a fun year.

LOL!
I wouldn't worry about it.
We own Thigs contract and Favre is one of the most popular QBs in the NFL over his long career.
Montana, Marino, Elway, Farve, Manning would make a good timeline of popular QBs that span team allegiences and time.
You might even be able to throw Aikman in there also, I wouldn't though.
I may have left a few out.

I just think it silly that someone would question a guys loyalty to the team that drafted him and is paying his check.
I mean, it would be like McCauley saying something like he worshiped a CB that played for the packers and can't wait to meet him.
Would you question his loyalty also just because he idolized a player? Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

That doesn't mean they wish to play there or won't be loyal to their team.
Personally, I like the idea of Thigpen wearing #4. It will eat at & irk the Cheesedicks long after Favre is gone.

If you ask me there's nothing wrong with idolizing Favre (not that I do).
The fact is he's been one of the most elite QBs during his career whether we like it or not.
My customized jersey has #4 on it.
That's the number I used to wear but it was because I liked the way Len Dykstra from the Mets played baseball.

Re: Tyler Thigpen - A steal as a 7th round pick?
I really liked what I saw from him, and you never know, he could be the next Tom Brady.
Ir really seems like his arm has some major life in it...a few of those throws were rockets and the deep pass was pretty impressive too. There's no doubt he's a great athlete...he reminds you of Tarvaris in that sense.
I don't know how well he could adjust to the NFL though. Coming out of Coastal Carolina his learning curve will be pretty steep (where have we heard this before?) but he definately has the tools to be a solid quarterback.
Maybe he will get his shot at some point?
