Linehan - currently 0-4 in St. Louis
Tomlin - when Childress was hired, Tomlin was an obscure DB coach with Tampa Bay
Cottrell - he was let go by the Vikings after his horrendous defensive season in 2005 and

has never seriously been considered as a head-coaching candidate by anyone.

    Yup and who hired Tomlin?

You folks that continue to berate Childress are amusing. Brad didn't over throw wide open recievers, Chiller didn't have a pre-snap penalty. I think his system is still coming along and is getting closer to smoothing out and finding a rhytm. Until we get to a "mid-season form" I will hold my judgement.

    Re: Thank You Brad Childress

I have officially gotten off the Pro-Childress bandwagon.
I am not ready to hop on the anti-Childress bandwagon yet, but it is looking more and more inviting.

I appreciate his approach to building a team.
I appreciate his evaluation of talent in nearly every position.
But I can no longer defend his decisions at QB or his offensive execution.
I have given him 1 1/4 seasons, and I simply do not see any improvement.
Our OL blocking scheme is horrible.
We do NOT have a viable solution at QB.
We can only play open field football on offense.
    Please, Coach Childress.
Fix this team and make us believe in you again.

I can be easily won back though.
It will only take one good offensive showing...

so yer not off the Bchill deserves his 3 years yet are ya?

i mean say we win 5 games.. that's at least 1 offensive showing.. so u'd support him next year?

somehow I am still on the Bchill deserves his chance to meld this team as he see's it. I believe that with the ground game flying, and his QB learning he needs the time to shape this team into real contenders. it's coming people.. you must believe!!!
and we really must show patience.

I know that what you say is true.
It is just becoming harder and harder for me.
I need to see something. Some evidence of improvement.

As far as supporting him if we go 5-11 with at least 1 offensive showing... It is hard to say.
A lot of it would have to do with how well we played those 11 losses, and when the good offensive chowing came into play.
I have said before that I really think Childress needs to post a winning record to retain his job.
If for no other reason than a financial one.
Zygi needs to sell tickets to make money AND to get a stadium.
The tickets won't sell if we have another losing year.
