LMAO...... no mention of your mighty Toxics then... clearly golf is more of an attraction in Houston. Underrated ? possibly but always in the shadow of Dallas and consigned as the poor hick cousins.
I'd say we are an average team right now thats headed in the right direction.
I am well aware of who we are.
And yes, the majority of Texas is Cowboy country... but thats what happens when one team wins like 5 super bowls.
But I am sure yall know all about that considering your team has been around since the 60s.

And Houston has surpassed Dallas as the best city to live in.
We have them in basketball, and baseball.
Football has a loooooooooooong ways to go obviously.
I think the Vikings are directly to thank for three of them Superbowls.

Im sure MN is great but those brutal winters YALL have definitely keep me with out a shred of want or need to go up there... probably ever.
    No offense...but
I can hop in a pool, hit the beach, or turn on the AC in my car to escape the heat and cool off and then enjoy my 5-6 months of spring time like weather and year round golf.
Much easier than throwing on 3 layers of clothing and shoveling your sidewalk and digging out your car for almost half the year.

    Well then mission accomplished.

I have lived all around the world, including Texas, and I have never found a better place to live than the upper midwest.
Which is why I chose to come back to the area despite having my pick of job opportunities on the west coast.
If you haven't been up here, then you are selling yourself short.
(And if you think the Minnesota winters are brutal, you should try hitting my town of Fargo in January.
The weak don't stick around here very long...)
No, smack aside..I have heard good things and will visit one day.
In Texas its all about the hill country... if you havent been to say..... New Braunsfels and worked your way up through canyon lake, frio river, and garner state park... you are also selling yourself short.

I often say those words myself when encountering an arrogant Cowgirl fan... which I have yet to meet one that wasnt.

average, lmao. You beat Miami by 1pt, then you beat Detroit and Cincinatti the only 2 teams that have yet to win. Combined record of teams defeated by the texans.....3-19.
You havn't won a road game yet this year(0-3), your record on the road since 05 4-15 and 2 of those were against Oakland.
Winning 3 in a row for the first time ever is a step in the right direction(please tell me I'm wrong, that's just sad) but I think it has more to do with playing 3 of the worst teams in the NFL at home.
Nope if you had an average team I would be worried, but the Texans are a well below average.

I know the NFL is a competitive league, with the any given Sunday crap but lets be honest...
The Vikings are easily capable of losing to ANY team on any Sunday.
They seem to stay close, as well as win/lose with both the good teams and the crappy ones.
They can be really hard to predict at times.
I'm sure this is directly related to their running game/clock chewing mentality/bend but break, etc.

The only thing any team has over us is a coach and a quarterback.

Actually that's wrong, I should say the #7 team in Texas after Cowboys, Rangers, Rockets, Mavericks, Spurs & Stars

I would rather be a number "two" team in Texas anyday than in Minnesota! Everything is bigger and better in Texas! How about sold out every single game since we were an NFl team! O well, I will excuse your ignorance and look foward to watching the Texans kill the men in purple tights!
    Go Texans!
Come by Texanstalk, there is NO Vikings fans!
    LOL! Your post spews ignorance.
The only thing bigger in Texas is half the population's ego about their overrated state.
You have nice roads, thats about it - TXDOT is a nicely ran organization.

Also, last I checked our "tights" were white.
    What color are yours?

Why the hell anybody would want to live in or near Houston is beyond me - sorry fellow PP.Oers

The one thing I will give you credit for is that somehow the poohie Texans have sold out every game.
Coming from someone who has traveled coast to coast several times, and been to TX over 25 times - you have nothing to brag about.
Your state is average at best.
I personally hate it there (especially the humid/sticky/miserable city known as Houston)...but that's just me.

Good luck to your team on Sunday.
    I expect another close game.
I think the Vikings are going to win this one, but only because they need it more, not necessarily because they are the better team.
The Texans better be good and used to playing in loud atmosphere because it's going to be pounding in the dome come Sunday.

When the Vikings win on Sunday, I'd be honored if you'd think of that donkey butt on Purplepride.org with the horrendously stupid name of BloodyHorns82 that ripped on your "bigger and better" state known as Tex-jiggly butt.
    :P

Ya why would anyone want to live in Houston? I think my fellow Texan pretty much shut you up about that one.
Bud left because he thought that he needed a new stadium then and now and we did not like him too much(astrodome around as nice as yalls stadium) soo dont give me that.
I can see the jealousy of Texas here but I am used to it.

Yes, average... with potential to be more and soon.
You dont know much about our team do you?
We were .500 LAST YEAR despite losing AJ (our best player) for a large part of the season.
Under our new regime which took over a cap strapped 2 win team.
They have shown steady improvement each year since.
From 2 to 6 wins, to 8 wins last year.

This year we opened up on the road at Pitt and at Tenn... playing two of the best defenses in the league.
We were still learning our new running scheme from Alex Gibbs, had AJ coming off of injury (no timing with Schaub yet), and had a ton of moving parts yet to settle in.

Pitt was an arse wooping no doubt about it.
But the A. Gibbs running game started to come alive in Tenn in week 2.
We ran pretty darn good against a stout D in Tenn.
AJ like I said had his timing off (said they finally got it comepletely back last week against Cincy).... and dropped two TD passes in that game that completely changed the complection and kept us out of it.
We then get hit with a devastating hurricane and are forced to cancel the game and then with everything going on with our homes, the city, they were forced to go to Jax for the 3rd game of the season on the road.
NO TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL has had to open up with 3 straight on the road vs. 3 playoff teams from the year before.
Jax has to convert two 4th downs in a row on the final drive just to get into position to kick a field goal to send it to over time.
Who ever won that coin flip was going to win that game the way both teams moved the ball that day.
    Jax won, and they won.
The week after we completly dominated the Colts for 55 minutes cept two dumb plays by our backup QB cost us that game.
So a rough start to say the least.

We win the next 3.. LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE (including a total dismantling of the Bengals/the worse they have had).
And Miami is a better team thank you think btw.
Porter is a manchild right now and they have beaten the Chargers, Patriots, and Bills recently.

Now we are back to playing for .500 this Sunday.
We have vaulted from last years pathetic running O to almost being in the top 10.
Overall this offense has been playing near the best ball in the NFL for the past 5 weeks, not just the past 3.
Our O and special teams are special.
On D we got Dunta Robinson (who was our best defensive player before getting hurt) back recently which has given this entire team a boost.
The weakness is the D with a few more holes to fill.

You really are in for a rude awakening if you think the Texans really are as bad as you think they are.
We havent been out of a game since week 1 and should definitely be 4-3, possibly 5-2 if we win that coin flip in jax.
Meaning we a better team than the record indicates.

I guarantee you have a battle on your hands.

    LMAO!!
Yeah, he sure shut me up.
    :

I hate Houston...one of the worst places I have ever visited...granted it was in large part to the horrible weather.
You gotta love your windshield fogging up in the middle of the summer with no rain.
If you think I (or likely any Minnesotan) is jealous of Texas you are sadly mistaken my friend.
I've had more miserable work experiences in Texas then any other state, bar none.
    I hate Texas.

The worst thing you have going for you as a Texan is the slogan "Everything is bigger and better in Texas".
Just so you're aware, in case you actually believed that....everything is NOT bigger and better in Texas.
You have a wealthy economy in large part to natural resources.
Take away that and your left with a bunch of uneducated hillbillys and a vast wasteland of shitty scenery (for the most part) and wet sticky climate.
    Fuck that.
Your beaches are filled with Tar clumps and the state in general (not as a whole) sucks donkey balls.
But that's just one Minnesotan's opinion whose been forced to work down there more times than any good man deserves.
Don't ever call me jealous of Texas.
I'd almost rather live in Florida than Texas...

I jumped out of the conversation because I was starting to feel bad about ripping on another man's pride.
If you think Texas is nice...good for you.
But I'm willing to bet you've never lived outside the state or you would surely have a different opinion.
Have you even vacationed outside the state of Texas?

    Quick question:
Have you ever been to the Metrodome?
Do you assume they are similar because they both have "dome" in the name?
The Metrodome was designed around football, while the Astrodome was designed around baseball.

PS...I forgot about "Don't mess with Texas"...boy, your state is full of bad slogans.
