Re: Can you stop Favre and the passing game?
"East - West running on turf is a little different on grass.. he still we cut and make people miss but each cut will take a little more time.. thus allowing us, hopefully, to close the gaps on the explosive runs."
Won't the defense take a little more time as well? AP is better on natural turf than he is on an artificial surface. Running the ball and the clock are the easiest way to defend against Favre's flings. They will stop him, because he won't be on the field. Easy :D
Re: Can you stop Favre and the passing game?
A little pressure on Farve would do the trick. Farve takes alot of chances down field, and sometimes won't thimk twice. Frazier has to come up with a plan for Farve, or it's gonna be a long day in Lam-blow field.
Re: Can you stop Favre and the passing game?
farve amongst others have eaten up the middle of the field on us over the last 2 years.
we did a great job yesterday not allowing that.
was it a case of more man to man, more blitzes, better front 4 rush, maybe all?
all i know is, we have to have a scheme like that alot more if we want the defense to be effective and not let teams monopolize the clock.
this might leave us more vulnerable for big plays over the top, but im not sure that the reward doesn't outweigh the negative.
they shouldn't be able to run, so we can not let them use that short passing game as an extension, or for that matter their idea of a running game.
we don't do this, then we'll be watching a packer game we've been seeing the last couple of years.
Re: Can you stop Favre and the passing game?
I think we are going to show the rest of the NFL how to beat the Packers.
Kind of like Brady did to us last year.
You blitz Favre and run the ball down their throats.
;D

Ask the Chiefs how the blitzing worked in the second half.. in the first they played the outside coverage with two picks.. watch the game if you wish... I wouldn't blitz him.

No, not me. I'm too fucking old to be chasing that mofo around the field.
But my boys in purple have a damn good shot at it.

Done! Didn't I tell you if we got a win yesterday, I'd quit today?
;)
Although chasing him around the field with a cig hanging out of my mouth would be funny as hell.
(I loved that part in the movie, "The Replacements" I believe, where that FG kicker would kick the FG's with that cigarette hanging out of his mouth.)
