Bears/Vikings predictions and crow thread
Ok i apologize if there already is a thread for this. Time to make your predictions and after come back to this thread and eat your crow if your wrong.
This will be the toughest game for both teams so far. I think a vikings loss hurts more than a bears loss only due to the next game being in chicago. I also can see this game going either way. The bears have looked great against to bad teams and the vikes walked away with 2 wins from 2 beat up teams that are suppose to be contenders. The bears will have something to prove after the shalacking our scrubs received last year, and the vikes are looking for a win to prove they're a legit contender. So here is mine:
Bears 20
vikes
16

smooty will shut dowm mushin, d line will get some pressure on rexy and force him to throw us a pick.
this is the game the o line finally clicks letting up no sacks and 105 rushing yards by chester.
brad will hook up with marcus robinson and troy williamson for td's and longwell will go 3/3 for a score of 23-13

Grossman may have discovered a vertical attack against the Pack & the Lions, but this is the first time he will be facing a top 10 defense.
The Vikes will pick the Bears O apart, and wear them down enough for another Vikings come from behind win in the forth.
Vikes 13

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Bears win 20-16. I'm optimistic that we CAN win, but the Bears are really good on both sides of the ball so far this year.
WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

In AP I trust

Re: Bears/Vikings predictions and crow thread
considering the fact that we were suppose to be in the rebuilding phase i would say the bears win 13-10
HOWEVER, we just beat two playoff teams and it doesn't seem like we are in the rebuliding process so I say we win 13-10

Re: Bears/Vikings predictions and crow thread
Although the Bears have looked great so far (best in the NFL IMO) I don't think we are much different.
The Bears have the #7 offense and we are 13.
The Bears have the #5 defense and we are 7.
The major differences between the two so far is the Bears have forced turnovers and scored TDs.
The Vikes have scored FGs and only have 1 turnover.
Yardage is pretty close on offense and defense.
Everyone is stating we have played teams that are banged up.
Well, I ask, what about us?
We are just as banged up as almost any NFL team.
The Bears have played two teams that aren't cream of the crop.
We played two teams that were in the playoffs last year.
Of course this day of FA makes one year very different than the next.
The keys to this game are BJ managing the clock like he knows how and not turning the ball over.
The Bears score a lot of points off turnovers.
The front line must protect BJ.
Marcus Johnson needs to step up.
Another key is Special Teams.
The Bears have very good special teams (that score points as well) and the Vikings are giving up a lot of yards on kick returns.
We have to rattle Grossman.
He really hasn't been tested yet.
Main ingredients:
If we can hold on to the rock and contain the STs we will win.
If not, we are in for a long day.
Prediction:
Bears 17 - Vikings 16 ( I hope I eat crow)

Honestly, Sweetness, this is the first refreshingly intelligent thread on the subject so I consider this to be the first and only official one.
Like many people, I see this as a close game - possibly even overtime. Regardless of the outcome, Minnesota will finally start to receive some respect from the rest of the league. Where I differ in many predictions is the hero is going to be someone who hasn't been talked about much to this point. (Remember when Mike Brown returned a couple interceptions for touchdowns in consecutive games a few years ago? No one outside the NFC Norris really knew who he was prior to that.) That's the type of person I see making his mark this weekend. For all the hype surrounding Rex Grossman so far, I think he has an average, very Brad Johnson-like game. However, no one plays that game better than Brad Johnson right now so I give the quarterback edge to Minnesota. Neither of the team's *stars* shine very brightly and Travis Taylor (or Minnesota's D) makes a big play for the game's only touchdown, giving the Vikings a 10-9 victory.
Win or lose, Sweetness, I'll return here after the game to eat cake or crow.
Here's to a well-played, smashmouth, old school Black-and-Blue Division game!!
Who needs a Daunte when you have a Big Johnson?
