Re: Zygi Wilf says Tice's job secure

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper said he has no preference for Loney's position, adding, "Wherever he feels he can help us out the best, that's where he should go."
I wonder if Pep was thinking to himself "away would be a good place".

Like him or hate him, Tice has brought in a lot of good talented players to this team.

I think it is safe to assume that anyone in the HC position for that many years can say the same for any team. What has he done with these players is the question that must be answered.

I know Zygi isn't like other owners, but how many times has a coach got the vote of confidence, right before they are fired?

Tice has brought talent....unfortunetely he CANT COACH IT! The Vikings are a travesty right now! The most talented 0-2 team in Vikings history...they suck, and it is Tice's fault as much (I believe more) as the players!

Re: Zygi Wilf says Tice's job secure

Are Tice's 9 lives getting low?

Tice's time ticking away in Minnesota
    By Brian Gillespie, NFL Analyst

(Sports Network) - Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice is much like a cat, as he seems to have nine lives. No matter how poor or underachieving his squads have been, it hasn't seemed to affect his standing with the organization.

That long rope is getting shorter by the day, as he put himself on thin ice with the Super Bowl ticket-scalping controversy in the offseason and now the team is coming apart like a cheap suit. All this is happening right in front of new owner Zygi Wilf, who has made it clear that he wants to have a hands-on role with the team. Wilf must have been wincing terribly on Sunday, as the Vikings were lifeless in a 37-8 shellacking at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.

Word out of Minnesota has Tice shifting the blame to offensive coordinator Steve Loney, whose unit has almost as many turnovers (12) as points (14) in the first two contests. Tice is considering removing Loney's play-calling duties and taking them upon himself.

"I think we still need to continue to address who is in the booth, who is on the field and who has what role as far as it pertains to play-calling," Tice said. "We will continue to look at that as the next couple of days progress. ... We will address some things. I am sure there will be some tweaks. How many and how much, time will tell."

It doesn't look like many have faith in our win total.

    Thanks for taking this poll!
    1) How many wins will the Minnesota Vikings record in the 2005 season?
    0-1 4.43%
    2-3 9.81%
    4-6 57.91%
    8-10 25.32%
    11-14 2.53%
