Vikings | No current plans to move training camp
    Mon, 3 Jul 2006 18:06:49 -0700

Sid Hartman, of the Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress, before heading to vacation, made his first trip to Minnesota State, Mankato, where the Vikings will hold training camp. Owner Zygi Wilf said the Vikings don't have any plans to change their training camp site, at least until they get their new facility in Blaine.

I agree.. Unless something goes drastically wrong from now until next offseason, there is no way the Vikings are going to LA.. They are staying right in Minnesota in a new stadium.. :thumbleft:

awesome =) i was pissed when the old regime talked about how they wanted to move the vikes out of kato and start shopping for a new place to hold training camp after 41 years with us here in mankato. they were complaining that they werent making as much cash from camp as they could

good to hear they'll probably be here for another 4 years or so (until the stadium is finished)

Change is bad, keep it the way it's always been.

I say the Vikings should mplay outside again (in Minnesota), to me, it makes a team seem tougher and makes it harder for others to come and play at an outdoor stadium in the north. But, even though I don't live in Minnesota, I will be pissed if they move out of state, it just wouldn't be the same.

The packers are not so tuff now. You need a good team regaurdless if you play inside or outside. The metrodome was one of the toughess places to play when the vikings were a top team. They need out of the dome, if they want a roof...good..if they play outdoors...fine. I'll be in the seats no matter what. We all need to push this issue to our elected officals to get this done next year!

Vikings | Training camp appears to be staying put
    Thu, 6 Jul 2006 20:16:13 -0700

Jeff Zulgad, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota State, Mankato plan to announce a multiyear agreement next week that will keep the team's training camp on that campus.

Vikings' vice president of sales and marketing Steve LaCroix said Thursday, July 6, that the organization has been in talks with the university about maintaining a relationship that will enter its 41st year this month. The Vikings began exploring their training camp alternatives in January after the Mankato Training Camp LLC informed the team it had ceased operations because of low revenues.

Under the new agreement with Minnesota State, Mankato, which will begin this year, the Vikings will assume financial responsibly for training camp expenses.
