Let him buy it, 20 to 25 millions is a small price to keep the vikes in minnesota.
How far is the Trib land from the Dome?
Anyone know?

I think very close. I believe the actual land the Metrodome sits on & possibly the dome itself is owned, at least in part, by the Trib.Quote:

So it may be possible to build the new stadium on the new land and turn the dome site into a giant parking lot?Quote:

That would be ok with me, I do want the new stadium to provide tailgating on-site.....
I suppose they could build the new stadium and then in the last offseason before the Vikes use it, they could demo the dome and be ready for the next season.
Another thing that would be nice is to have the team facilities on-site like with the Blaine location.
I doubt there would be enough room for everything downtown.
I think Zygi and Co. are just looking to explore every possible option.
I really doubt they would put the new stadium downtown.
I just don't think there's enough room for everything they want to do with the new "complex".

I don't see anything in that article about them looking at this land for the Viking's stadium. That is conjecture by the press. They think Wilf, they automatically think Vikings. Little do they realize that Wilf is also a developer and may be looking at the land for an entirely different purpose.
I actually think this is a good thing.
It shows Zygi's commitment to getting the Vikings a new staium in Minnesota, and shows that he has options when it comes to the stadium location.
This will allow him to be a stickler on the things he really wants, like an open air stadium and nearby development land.
Blaine
Downtown Minny
Maple Grove
Canterbury Park
The list of possibilities keeps on growing.
I don't think the odds were ever this good under Red McCheap's watch.
Skol Zygi!

Like Cojo stated, there is nothing in the article that states he might build a stadium downtown. Then again, there's nothing that states he won't.Quote:

Regardless of the number of options Zygi has, it doesn't mean squat if the politicians & the state aren't behind you or won't let you build one.
