Zimmer and Norv Turning It Up A Notch

I like the sound of this. Get in their face approach a good idea. We need some of this.

    God, I hope so.

We tried a coach that players "love", it didn't work out with the players we have. Maybe a "do it this way or find another team to play for" approach is what is needed.

Dick Vermeil is the only player's coach that I can recall that ever won a super bowl, I could be wrong though.

I believe it is needed. We have been a soft team for awhile. We have not been putting fear into anyone. We need to get back to our roots. Tough physical football.

Which is very odd considering we are built to be a physical team.

Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer were definitely player's coaches. Pete Carroll is also certainly a player's coach. John Harbaugh, Brian Billick, Sean Payton and Bill Cowher have all had that label at some point or another also ... though Billick and Payton are much more Xs and Os guys than Harbaugh and Cowher.

What exactly is a "players coach?"

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know

We'll see what the results are but I love that Zimmer is such a change up from what we've had in recent memory.

Did you see the quote from the OTAs today?

He was asked, "Are the players buying into the new system?"
He answered, "You would have to ask them."

He made it clear he was implementing the system, and that was his job. It was the player's responsibility to buy into and grow in that environment.

I can't give you a definition of a "Player's Coach", but Zimmer is an example of someone who is NOT one.
