Your Favorite "Old School" Vikings
With nothing else going on until training camp begins I was wondering who everyone's favorite Vikings were back in the day. Now I don't mean back in 2000, go a little further back, to the 60's , 70's , & 80s...
I understand some of us are older and have been Viking fans longer than other's, so this should be intresting...
Me, I grew up on The Purple People Eaters and Chuck Foreman and got really into them during the years of Millard, Doleman, Browner, and AC. ..
Obviously, Randall McDaniel and John Randle were my boys back in the 90's...

Re: Your Favorite "Old School" Vikings
My favorite players back in the 1960's were Joe Kapp (toughest son-of-a-bitch to ever play quarterback!), Bill Brown, and in the 70's it was Foreman, Ron Yary, Paul Krause, Bobby Bryant, others. Man, those were the days!

Re: Your Favorite "Old School" Vikings
Put me down for Chuck Foreman, Alan Page, Matt Blair, Fran the Man and everybody's favorite (hint he invented the Nerf football), that's right Freddy Cox.

Re: Your Favorite "Old School" Vikings
Despite my age (28), I have so many favorite players that span all four decades of Vikings football, so I have to split it up as such:
'60's-'70's - Fran Tarkenton, Chuck Foreman, Carl Eller, Alan Page, Jim Marshall; Overall favorite: Paul Krause.
'80's - A/C, Ahmad Rashad, Tommy Kramer, Keith Millard, Matt Blair, Chris Doleman; Overall favorite: Joey Browner.Proud member of PP.O since April 5th, 2003!

Joe Kapp got me hooked on the Vikings...he was a QB with a LB mentality and body.
Bill Brown Dave Osbourne Gene Washington,Sammy White,Ahmad Rahshad,Anthony Carter,Cris Carter. etc.
All of the Purple People Eaters.....What a defense that was!!

If that's Sammy White you're referring to, he was definitely a favorite of mine. Seemed to always catch the tough balls over the middle while Ahmad tip toed out of bounds.I have a lot of the same as Shock.
