Loyal Vikings fans will recall the team selected cornerback Adrian Ward with a 2005 seventh-round pick obtained from Oakland in the Randy Moss trade. Those same fans also will recall that Ward was the Vikingsâ€™ only draft pick that year who failed to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.

Ward eventually spent time with the New York Giants. Now he has surfaced again. This time he has signed a free-agent deal with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.

Calgary also signed another player whose name will ring a bell with Vikings diehards. Quarterback Barrick Nealy was signed by Minnesota as a free-agent receiver last May but was cut in July. This will be his second time on the Calgary roster.

You do realize you can lock your own thread.
