Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments
I hope that we are getting ahead of ourselves here! Nowhere have I read or heard anything about all 3 ligaments been torn!!!!!!!!!! Everything I have heard has to do with waiting to see the extent of the damage. I am not saying he'll be back next weekend or anything but I want to take a wait and see approach.
Most people on this site saw what happened to Willis Magahee(sp?) the guys leg was hanging by skin for heavens sake!! Daunte walked off of the field on his own power, if I remember correctly Magahee was carted off the field, so IMO Daunte's injury is/wasn't as bad. I don't know how bad it is, but neither do any of the people claiming DC' s career is over(radio dudes).
I guess we'll have to wait and see, I'll miss the big guy, but like others have said perhaps it will help him to put things into perspective and he'll come back better then ever!!
PS- Magahee looks like 1 of the best running backs in the NFL, and as a runner you need your knees, so with todays technolgies, Daunte WILL RETURN!!
All the best Daunte, your the man!!
Cheers!

iMac, but I am so used to my PC, it's not the computer it is the user. You know the subtle differences between Macs and Pc's and I am not a computer guy at all, this is my typing class, making posts here.
Cheers!

Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments
Talked with my doctor today (just happened to have an appt.) and he said that more than likely you are looking at minimum of 18-24 months of recovery if all three are involved. Although he could be back next year its more likely he will be back for 2007.

Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments
This is pretty much the same injury that happened to Rodney Harrison earlier this season. Harrison has age against him, so it is very likely that his career is over. Like others have said, Mcgahee is the ONLY player to every come back after tearing all 3 L's. We either have to hope that they aren't torn, or that Culpepper has the strength to bounce back.

thread;
"Culpepper tore the anterior cruciate, medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee during the first quarter of Sunday's 38-13 loss.
Tests Monday revealed the severity of the injury, which will force Culpepper to undergo surgery once the swelling goes down."

Click here
This from a guy that works on these injuries,
I've seen very, very few players ever come back from a fully constructed knee. The only thing holding the knee together after he tore both of his cruciate ligaments was his capsule & patellar tendon. This is a terrible, terrible injury, and I doubt he'll ever be as good or confident as he was last season
