Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments

Next season, C-Pep comes back, Birk is back, Onterrio is back, N8 is healthy from the get go ... hopefully that means we find some W's with our new coach (Mike Martz seems to be the guy that pops to mind, though I would not love that, I feel like it is quite a possibilty). Hopefully C-Pep returns with a solid leg and a clear mind.

Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments

The reports I've seen/heard today haven't said it is career threatening. Tice said they won't know everything until the swelling goes down so they can operate.

He may not ever be the same QB again. This is not to say he can't go on to have a decent career. He will probably have to learn to become a better pocket passer as his mobility might not be what it was. This is all just speculation for the time being.

I think the emotion in the locker room might ave revolved around te severity of this injury.......very similar to the injury that virtually ended Kellen Winslow Sr.'s career in San Diego. This might be the last chapter in the first part of Daunte Culpepper the QB. Hopefully the second part is filled with many chapters yet to come.

Remember how Rich Gannon the scrambler was out of football and came back as Rich Gannon the passer. It is hoped Culpepper will realize similar fortune. Such a great guy.

I heard it most likley isn't.. But it should take over a year.. So he won't start from the beginning of the season maybe.. But he is tough.. He will come back.. he just won't be as mobile I bet

From what I just heard on the radio (just got home from work) all they talked about was that this was more than likely a career ending injury. Very few athletes have come back from this.

I'm not a Dr. and I don't know if this statement is true or not, just passing along what I heard. I hope he is back.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the scariest halloween ever! Mike Martz is a numbnuts, as much as Tice. I will denounce my purple pride if we hire Martz. Billick or Linehan (Too bad Weis is out of the picture), nothing less.

As far as career ending, DC aint going out like that! He has more heart and more will than any other player and you can bet he will be back and strong as ever. When that is remains to be foreseen.
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

hopefully this will make cpep want it even more than he already does, and WHEN he comes back, he will be even more focused and determined to win it all.

Re: You don't...recover from tearing all three knee ligaments

I hope that we are getting ahead of ourselves here! Nowhere have I read or heard anything about all 3 ligaments been torn!!!!!!!!!! Everything I have heard has to do with waiting to see the extent of the damage. I am not saying he'll be back next weekend or anything but I want to take a wait and see approach.

Most people on this site saw what happened to Willis Magahee(sp?) the guys leg was hanging by skin for heavens sake!! Daunte walked off of the field on his own power, if I remember correctly Magahee was carted off the field, so IMO Daunte's injury is/wasn't as bad. I don't know how bad it is, but neither do any of the people claiming DC' s career is over(radio dudes).

I guess we'll have to wait and see, I'll miss the big guy, but like others have said perhaps it will help him to put things into perspective and he'll come back better then ever!!

PS- Magahee looks like 1 of the best running backs in the NFL, and as a runner you need your knees, so with todays technolgies, Daunte WILL RETURN!!

All the best Daunte, your the man!!

    Cheers!
