If you asked Lovie Smith if he wanted to start the season with Rex Grossman or Tjack at QB, I guarantee he would say Tjack.
I guarantee that you pulled that statement out of your jiggly butt and you cannot guarantee that you are correct.

Grossman led his team to the Super Bowl?
You think maybe that has anything at all to do with it?
Grossman didn't lead his team anywhere.
He followed the defense to the Super Bowl.

Still, I can't complain about TJ being ranked at the bottom.
    He is a complete unknown.
I am not even convinced yet that he will be starting over Brooks.

I like TJ, but he is still pretty gol 'darnit green.
I like digital's idea of reevaluating this list after game six.
Was he the starting QB for the NFC Champions?
Then he did lead them, even if you feel his poor play was not the major factor in their success.

    =Z=
I see where you are coming from, but I have to disagree.

I've give you the fact that he is the one who gets the plays called into him, and he is the one who delivers the essay in the huddle.
I assume he also has the ability to audible if needed.
    He runs the offense.

But running the offense and leading the team are two different things IMHO.
I would be more inclined to say that Urlacher led the team to the SB than Wrecks.
He touches the ball on every single offensive play.
He calls the defense, makes check-downs and directs the flow.
A QB must be a leader, by the very definition of the job.

Defense wins championships, blah, blah, blah.
    I get all that.
And I recall the horrendous performances of Grossman on many occasions last year - including the Super Bowl alley-oop pass to the Colts.
I'm not arguing that Grossman is one of the top-5 QBs in the league (personally, I think he's a stiff and that the Bears should be working with Orton as the QB-of-the-future, but that's just me and lots of Big-10 football watching).

I am saying that whoever it was wayyyy back up thread (SwannyB?) who posited that he could not see how Grossman is better than T-Jack needs to look only at Grossman as QB of the NFC Champions as evidence that the Sex Cannon is a better QB right now than 0-2 Tarvaris Jackson.

I guarantee you have no fucking clue whether or not Lovie Smith wears boxers or briefs, let alone his preference for his current starting QB over Tarvaris Jackson.

Tjack is 0-2 but wasnt really given a chance to win... we kinda wanted to lose cuz we out of the playoffs and wanted a higher pick hence all the subs playing

    Re: WTF? ESPN QB poll

It doesn't matter where he is ranked before the season starts what matter is where he is at the last 4 games of 2007/2008 season!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Maybe you're referring to Martin Nance getting some catches in the last game?

Your right Z, all I really know about Lovie is he coached under Dungy and they are good friends.
That and he took the Bears to the Bowl last year.
