Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell thought he had the distance to kick a career-long 57-yarder at the end of the first half.
But he was duped by the old-switcheroo - or lack thereof.
"They put a quarterback ball in," Longwell said, referring to the different balls used in the game. "They didn't put a K ball in the game.".........

LMAO,
It's the balls fault I tell ya.....LOL
Maybe next week, it will be, " I had my practice shoe laces in, not my game laces."
;D
Re: Wrong ball to blame for missed FG?
I hate it when players make excuses for poor play.
Thats my damn job.
;D

In addition to quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, Childress said wide receiver Robert Ferguson suffered a concussion after taking a shot on the sideline.
I hate to admit it, but Fergy was everywere yesterday.
Some nice catches and he can still throw a hell of a block.
Your winning me over Ferg.
Keep it up.
;D
Re: Wrong ball to blame for missed FG?
Man when we try a long field goal like that we should have atleast one guy that can run in there. All those linemen rumbling around that guy just skated past them. Cudo's to the team for galvanizing rather than crumbling. We really dominated SD the second half.... It was the best Sunday we've had in a long while. Let's build on it.

Right to the point and right on......Thanks
Re: Wrong ball to blame for missed FG?
I love the LT quote saying he would be shocked if Henderson didn't make the pro-bowl. That said, he'll probably get snubbed like most vikings players do each year.

Re: Wrong ball to blame for missed FG?
I'm not sure if he would have caught the runner, but there was a pretty blatant hold on one of our linemen trying to cut him off ( Birk?) I though it was Birk, but is he in on kicks? At any rate it was a blatant hold that should have nullified the TD IMHO
