I like what they said about several of the players fitting in well...including Jason Carter looking good on punt returns...displaying sure hands and the ability to avoid the big hit!

Also, AP and CT looking good together as a two-headed monster in the backfield.

EJ looking good at MLB...that is assuming that he can provide the necessary cover skills over the middle in games as well.

The DE and WR battles that look to be shaping up...hopefully providing not only the best starters but also quality depth at both positions where freshness and speed are prime commodities as games wear on.

They didn't say anything about TJack...so I hope that he is progressing nicely as well.

For the life of me I still can't figure out why he isn't a wide receiver. Other pieces written this year indicate he is the best pass catcher on the team. I don't know why Childress didn't use him last year.

He'll make his mark this season...good or bad...and the Vikes won't be able to hide him much longer on the practice squad if he plays well this preseason.

I thought chilly was the best pass catcher.

Re: Wrapping up minicamp - 10 observations

As they prepare for the 2007 season, the Vikings are in search of two players who can man the right side all season long. Artis Hicks and Ryan Cook worked with the first unit over the three day mini-camp at right guard and right tackle, respectively. But no one has been anointed the starter yet, and players such as Johnson and Anthony Herrera will be competing for a spot on the right side.
This is one of the main concerns I have for the Vikings.
Last year the right side of the line looked like an absolute nightmare.
If that happens again this season T-Jack will not survive.

I don't know. I hope he does break out based on the fact that all he apparently does
is catch the ball. But there must be something the coaches don't like about him.

One of the KFAN reports at minicamp told that he ones again saw less balls thrown his way than other receivers, and were frustrated about that fact.

The second came courtesy of none other than Jason Carter who smoked Winfield off the line and hauled in a deep ball down the right sideline from rookie QB Tyler Thigpen.

-Carter meanwhile continues to get little action despite doing nothing but catch the football when it's thrown his way.
He is visably frustrated with the whole thing and we can't say we blame him when guys like Chandler Williams and Cortez Hankton are getting more extended looks.

Re: Wrapping up minicamp - 10 observations

The most polished receiver is Bobby Wade, a five-year veteran acquired by the team this offseason after he spent time with both the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans. Wade is sure-handed, rarely ever allowing a ball to fall to the ground. He's constantly in conversation with Coach Childress or with a younger receiver.
    Couple of gems in there.
    1) Catches the ball, and 2) Works with younger WR's and the coaches.

I still say he will be our most significant pickup this year, next to our WR coach.
    ;D

In an attempt to jumpstart production from the position, the Vikings turned to an accomplished coach to tutor the wide receivers. George Stewart, a 25-year coaching veteran with 19 NFL seasons to his credit, was hired after spending the past four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Stewart has also spent time with San Francisco and Pittsburgh, and he was on Lou Holtz's staff at the University of Minnesota and Notre Dame.

Stewart seems to be more vocal than previous wide receivers coaches on the Vikings staff and the players seem to be responding to his style. Throughout OTAs and mini-camp, Stewart has run the receivers through countless drills during individual and positional workouts, and many of the receivers stay after practice to work on their craft.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in this article, remember, it is the Vikings official website and they tend to put a positive spin on everything. Notice there is no info on the QB situation, ( hmmmmmmmm...curious...) and they seem to put a positive light on every position. I doubt if you will get a whole lot of insider info here...

Yeah, I would hate to see a another team snag him off the practice squad.
I am willing to bet he makes active roster this year.

I found his Texas A&M profile.

Team’s top returning receiver (36 catches in ’04)...Only player in Big 12 or A&M history with at least one pass, rush, catch and return in three- straight seasons....Might be the team’s most versatile player with experience at wide receiver, running back, quarterback and return specialist...Member of the Leadership Council, 2005...Night of Champions participant (dunk competition)...Has six career starts.
