Re: Would the Vikes be interested in Eli Manning?
look at the eagles record with mcnabb and without mcnabb over the past 3 years.
you'll notice it is significantly better without mcnabb.
HE used to be great, but over the past few years he just cant seem to stay healthy.
they did a little section on him on NFL Total Access.
Lately his injuries have forced him to become a pocket passer, something he's not comfortable with.
When he went to the superbowl, he was fast, could rollout and hit a reciever, or take off and run himself.
Its kinda Like Culpepper.
When he was with us before his injury, he thrived off his ability to move around, get extra time and find a reciever.
Since he's injured his knee, he's been forced to play pocket passer, which he's not good at.

I'm a McNabb fan. That said, he seems to have stopped improving. He gets injured a lot. Worst of all, he has a history of cracking under the pressure of big games. Sorry, but I'd say no to McNabb, unless he comes in as and stays a backup.

Go Vikings!

I bet Eli Manning would be quite efficient
anywhere but New York (or Chicago).
Too big of a market for a kid who suffers from having the last name of Manning.
McNabb?
If the Kmart Blue light special was signaling a big bargain.

I don't want any pussy-ass cry baby on this team that pouted on draft day until he got what he wanted & was traded to NY. Plus he isn't that great IMO.Would the Vikes be interested in Eli Manning?
He wanted to go to NY, now he's in NY. I hope he stays there for his entire career & takes the team down with him.

It would be better to let the green dot on the back of his helmet play the game on its own that put him in there when the pressure is on

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

No. TJack has more upside at this point in their careers.

First off, with what the Giants gave up to get him, I doubt they'll cut him. With a cap number of 11.4 million and a salary due of approx. 8.5 million.. it wouldn't be surprising if the Giants cut Manning and go another direction.
This past weekend not withstanding, Eli has been a serviceable QB. So on a new deal in free agency, would the Vikes take a run at Eli?
Sorry to throw this into a season reborn.. but the cap number got me thinking about the possibility.
They may try and restructure his deal, but I doubt they'll cut him.
Second, I don't think he is anywhere near as good as his brother, and with the money he would want, I really can't see us seriously considering bringing him here.
The only upside is that we know that he can throw TD's to the Vikes (4 in 2 games).
So, no, I'm not interested in seeing him here.
And I don't want McNabb either.
