    NO THANKS
LOL.. come now... It was just a thought. I guarantee this, Eli will not see a huge contract once this one is up.. unless he really turns it on.

But I beg to ask the question is it really Eli or is it "Choke"-lin and lack of a position coach worth a salt for the lack of development of Eli? When his mechanics are sound, Eli delivers a nice ball and makes some decent reads. But he is a pocket passer that needs oline to keep him clean.

Early this year he was showing flashes... it was just a thought.. probably a bad time to post it.

I'd rather have Archie comeback to the Vikes than see Eli in Viking purple....send him to the Packers ;D

Eli doesn't have the MENTAL makeup to justify being picked #1 or to be a franchise quarterback.

We can use him as trade for Phillip Rivers.

Re: Would the Vikes be interested in Eli Manning?

Great quarterbacks have quarterback skills (throwing and decision-making) and leadership.

Eli has throwing and decision-making skills in spades. The weaknesses he has, like staring down receivers, are all very fixable. From this perspective, Eli has the potential to put up huge numbers and win with his team multiple Super Bowls.

His father was and his brother is excellent in on-field leadership. Archie and Peyton are both outgoing, loud, happy people.

Eli is a different breed. He is a cool customer. That's not a problem. Joe Montana and other great quarterbacks were too.

The problem is I haven't seen Eli become the leader he is supposed to become. He is captain of the NY Giants offense. When is he going to step up and be the field general?

Eli might be damaged goods in New York. It's a tough and unforgiving sports town.

If there is evidence he is developing as a leader, or could develop that, then I would say yes, absolutely, get that guy. He's got the talent.

I wouldn't give up on TJack, though. The kid is starting to show new wrinkles all the time. He just might develop into a perennial Pro Bowl quarterback who bags the Lombardi trophy himself. Even if we pick up a veteran quarterback, I would fight to keep TJack on the roster. I think he is going to need time to develop, that's all.

    Go Vikings!
