Would Cards D have been different vs TJack?

    Don't laugh/kill/ridicule me here...

It's just that when I saw that three man front, with all the LBs dropping back into pass coverage, it made me think that part of the reason was that they weren't worried in the least about Favre trying to run with the ball.

Admittedly, had he played, Jackson would have had his own issues to worry about (indecisiveness, inaccuracy, etc.), but I bet a few plays where Jackson takes off and runs for 10-15 yards might have had that D playing a bit more honestly.

I don't think so. They pressured Favre alot, which would have gotten to TJ as well. He might have scrambled away a couple times, but I don't see him being any more successful than Favre was

    Definitely would have been different.

It would have scored. And probably allowed 10 or less.

I touched this subject in the Vikings-Cardinals review thread. Tarvaris had the best game of his life against the Cardinals last year. I still don't think we would have won, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning would have had trouble against the team we faced.

Would Tarvaris put on more points than Favre did? It's possible. Tarvaris is a great scrambler and could have taken advantage of the deep coverage we saw.

Would it have been different? I sure as hell hope so. Favre and Jackson are very different QBs. If Jackson had been starting, the defensive scheme would have been very different, possibly more like the one that they used against the Titans.

The real question is - would the Vikings have been more effective if Jackson started, or even if he came in to relieve Favre? Impossible to say. The odds really aren't in Jackson's favor - yes, he had a career game against them last year, but there are a lot of things different between last year and this.

    To HEY's point:
Tarvaris is a great scrambler and could have taken advantage of the deep coverage we saw.
While I think TJack might have been able to take advantage of the deep coverage with his scrambling ability, I highly doubt that he would have seen it. As soon as TJack came in, the defense would have shown more traditional stacked boxes.

    Would it of really mattered?

Do you honestly think Jackson would of won the game for us?

That could have been easily rectified by rolling out a wildcat with Harvin under center...

Well that just eliminated most of the fun we could have with this thread

    Plain and simple- NO.

Yes, TJ did well against them last year but if you want a Qb-QB comparison against last years Cardinals then I will offer Brett throwing a career high 6 TD's against them on the way to a 56-35 victory while playing with the Jets.

So slice it any way you want, TJ was not a better option.

Yeah because Tjoke is so much more talented and experienced then Farve.
