Good observation here about needed to trade C.Taylor for a Top WR. Imagine this.....Chester to the Arizona Cardinals for Larry Fitzgerald?? We keep Memo to spell AD.
The way I see it...sooner or later C.Taylor will want to be traded. No way he's going to want to play second banana behind AD for another season.

    Cheers!
I doubt we could trade Chester straight up for anyone as good as Fitzgerald. Running backs are a dime a dozen (there were 17 1000 yard rushers this year), and Chester is very good but he's not exactly someone a team would give up a star for. Plus, in that situation, the Cards would be giving up their best WR for a running back when they already have Edgerrin James.

    It just won't happen.

Ryan Cook may be the weakest link in our line right now. But he is improving and I think he will get better. Certainly don't cut him.

CTaylor? Wow. You could call Adrian Peterson fumble prone to I suppose. He is under contract for a while and I would love to see him stay and back up Peterson. No way is Moore a better back then CTaylor. He may be more versatile but he isn't as good a running back IMO.

Whats wrong with Udezes play? He is great against the run. He led the team in sacks this year. And he seems be solid whether or not they move him from one side to the other. He is probably the best overall DE we have right now.
Why would Chester Taylor being fumble prone ... which he is by the way ... mean we should call Adrian Peterson fumble prone (which he is slightly)?
Chester Taylor fumbled once every 37.2 touches this season. That is EXCESSIVELY fumble prone. He put the ball on the turf twice against the Broncos in a game we had to have for our playoff lives.
Adrian on the other hand fumbled once ever 64.3 touches ... which is almost TWICE the amount as Chester. Chester has shown himself to be fumble prone since becoming a starting running back with us. He has fumbled once very 53.1 touches since joining us and is once every 56.1 touches for his career. Anything below 60 touches is pretty bad. Adrian should work on it, but Chester is fumble prone.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the Cardinals are looking to trade a 24-year-old two-time Pro Bowl receiver for a 28-year-old back-up running back who is only one year younger than their 8-time 1,000 yard rusher (including twice with them) Edgerrin James.
C'mon people! I would love to trade Chester Taylor of Larry Fitzgerald and while we are ad it lets see if we can get Tom Brady for Tarvaris Jackson, I mean T-Jack is only 24 and Brady is 30!

I agree it's not likely he goes to Arizona....but I do think he will be traded....The point is I hope we can get a top WR for him. Looking around the League there are several teams that could use Chesters tallents. The guy is a starter on just about ANY roster out there.

If he does ask to be traded then I think we should go after a deal with a team that has a veteran WR that's proven for him....That's all I am saying here.

    Cheers!

sorry that was off-topic. To answer the original post/thread let's get rid of Kelly Holcomb PLEASE. Keep Bollinger....Others that have been mentioned for the most part here by other posters I also agree with most of them.

    Cheers!

Eh, it may be hijacking a thread, but this thread was begging to be hijacked.
A starter on just about ANY roster? Lets see ... he would not start in Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Washington, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Arizona, San Francisco, St. Louis, Miami, New England, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Indy, Jacksonville, Tennessee, San Diego or Kansas City. That is 20 out of 32 teams in this league. Of the other 12 at best he would be competing for a job in Cleveland, Seattle, Chicago,
Cincinnati, Denver Oakland, Green Bay and Carolina.
Look I know we all got purple-tinted glasses ... and I very much appreciate Chester Taylor and what he has done for us the last two years ... but backs like him are a dime-a-dozen.
I think getting a solid WR for him would probably be a good move ... but there is little chance we get more than draft picks. Of course ... I hope I am wrong and we end up signing Randy Moss and trading Taylor for Fitzy.

Re: Worst Players by postion on the team(Who to replace or bench)

    ok, here we go....

Williamson- not for his salary. if he was making less, i would say keep him as a 4th or 5th reciever

Udeze- maybe by the end of training camp the coaches will decide that Robison/Edwards/Mitchell/possible FA or rookie draftee are good enough to replace both him and James as starters, but Udeze isn't going anywhere except maybe the bench

James- even if he is somehow still around, he will not be starting. the injuies have taken his chance, and one of the guys mentioned above takes the start

Smith- Probably cut due to off-field, but he should be cut to compete for the starting job with a possible FA or rookie, or otherwise either Doss or T. Williams

Doss- One of the 3 will almost certainly still be on the roster,
maybe two. its basically going to depend on if Smith gets cut, and the contract the other two want

    T. Williams- see above

Cook- He stays. he will only keep getting better. the line will be great next year.

Shiancone (sp?)- I think he gets replaced. he showed no flashes of anything this year to make me think he is going t ohave a break-out year next year.

Ferguson- If he stays, Williamson is gone. I think that Ferguson might be kept, he really seemed to be getting some good usage at the end of the season. He is probably the 2-4 (depending on free agent signings) WR

Wade- I might be the only one, but i think he needs to be cut and replaced. at best he is the #3 guy, in the slot.

Moore- A good running back, but the vikings have three of them. as the Free Agent, he only stays if Taylor is traded.

Taylor- Trading him for a good veteran WR makes alot of sense. In that case Moore likely stays as #2 and at least one of the recievers listed above is gone.

HMM...OK I will conceed that ANY was to strong. However I don't agree totally with your list of teams he could not start at either...especially Tampa Bay, Philly, Arizona (He beats out James easily in TC there). He's better than Marony in N.E too in my Humble opinion. Yes....many teams would not have a great enough need for him to give up a Top WR for him. I would conceed that as well.

Good counter points in your post.

    Cheers!

Re: Worst Players by postion on the team(Who to replace or bench)

    Forgot the QB's

Bollinger- Keep him. I have been on the BB bandwagon all along. Let him compete for the starting job next year, and if he ends up being #3 behind Jackson and Veteran QB X or if he ends up starting, I think either job will be handled reasonably.

Holcomb- He's gone. Bring in a true veteran. and NOT McNABB! I like getting McNair or Pennington for a Mentor/Back-up Plan. Maybe Trade Taylor For one of them. I doubt baltimore would do it, but Taylor for Pennington seems very possible.

VikesFan787, Thanks for the awesome sig!
