Re: Worst moment as a fan?

To me, the loss to the Atlanta Falcons to miss the SuperBowl appearance was really hard on me. I kept thinking during the game when we were up by 10 that the team lost their momentum in the fourth quarter. Ever since then there is not a day I dont think about it.

But recent the loss to the Skins last year was a huge surprise. I was so excited that they moved the game to primetime. But then we blew it......

I'm hoping that this year will erase those memories. I know Red Sox fans have forgotten their past of failures........

The Cardinals scoring 2 TDs inside of 2 minutes to keep the Vikes out of the playoffs... was watching the game live in AZ... still to this day do not understand how on earth that happened.
    I was there too.
You would have thought the Cards won the Super Bowl.
Then again it's probably the closest they will be in the next decade.

You realize that all of your worst moments happened 19+ years ago?
Did Vikings football cease to exist for you in 1989?
It never existed prior to 1989 for me

so you'd prefer we still played in the old met?
Oh dear lord, don't get him started.
He is convinced that our super bowl drought is a direct result of playing in the dome, instead of the POS Met.
Wrong answer but thanks for the try.
Maybe the fact that we have one of the most unattractive stadiums in the NFL?

We have a section of folded up blue chairs and bad lighting.

so let me get this straight, youd rather we play in the shitty old met, that was specifically designed for football, with parts of the stands over 40 yards away from the field.
It couldn't seat more than 40,000 people tops, probably less.
I can tell you right now, if that was our only option, there would be no Minnesota Vikings anymore.
    Only LA Vikings.
They would ahve been gone over 20 years ago.
Minnesota Vikings generate the lowest revenue in the NFL.
Do you think playing in a shitty BASEBALL stadium like that would help at all?

No one said that at all... we just don't like the design they chose to replace the Met (the metrodome).

I think the Metrodome is just fine.

Have you ever actually seen a Vikings game there?

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Yes, I have. I went to two games my last year in Minnesota, around 1993. Haven't been to one since though.

Say whatever you want... it's just my opinion, but the dome is an ugly stadium from the inside.

Re: Worst moment as a fan?

Too numerous to mention, but here a choice few:

    - Otis Taylor high-stepping down the sidelines; Hank Stram slapping the playbook in his palm.
    - Page manhandled by Kuechenberg.
    - Hail Mary, my ass.
    - Brent McLanahan's fumble.
    - Willie Brown's INT.
    - Taking a knee.
    - 41-0.

Re: Worst moment as a fan?

In order of futile moments, from worst to really bad:
    1)
    Hail Mary
    2)
    1998 NFC Championship Game
    3)
    Nelson's drop
    4)
    Super Bowl vs Oakland
    5)
0-41 shellacking vs Giants in 2000 NFC Championship Game
    6)
Last second loss to 'Zona to miss Playoffs

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As far as being a fan and watching the game in person goes...the Metrodome is just fine.
It's loud, exciting, and the energy is bouncing off the roof.

From an owner and NFL perspective, it's a toilet bowl for revenue.

No revenue= no team (granted I don't think we're at that point)
